Picked on the Internet, not sure where we were going. Through an archway in a pedestrian area to a courtyard. What a welcome. Landlady remembered who we were from our booking. So welcoming. Able to bring the dog in as well. Bowl of water and a biscuit for him. Food was very good, lamb shanks to die for. The gravy I wanted to bottle! All staff were considerate to the dog and nothing was too much trouble for us. Very clean in the toilets. We chose this inn as we met our son from Cardiff and will definately be visiting again. It is worth more than 5 stars, 10/10 for welcome, food, service and cleanness.

Lovely steak. Too many fries and peas. Very attentive staff. Made to feel welcome which is something sadly lacking in pubs who serve food. Well done to all at The Fountain.

Fantastic place to eat and/or meet friends. The manager and staff go out of their way to welcome you and the food is delicious with a choice of eating in the bar or in the dining room. Very good outside eating area for good weather. Highly recommended.

We've been to Gloucester quite a few times but this was our first visit to the Fountain. I can only repeat what many people have already said, so every success is wished to the excellent staff! Eat drink and be merry there, it's the Law!

Great people and great place. I need to go there one more time when I will be visiting Gloucester. Maybe more then one :) Awesome mood.
