Visiting Felixstowe from Norwich, eat here a few years ago, it's still very good, the staff are diamonds Two fish and chip dinners,nice mushy peas asked for half portion chips, medium cod,good friendly service hot food, pint of beer and half shandy £37.10.welcome to 2023. I'm well and truly stuffed!! Gluten free menu provided without even asking and options were good. Obviously my whole reason for going was fish and chips and I wasn't disappointed!! Was even able go get bread and butter, owner was concerned bread wasn't up to standard, but assured him gluten free bread always looked sorry for itself and anemic lol. Staff were lovely and friendly and environment was comfortable - left with my food baby and a smile!
Visiting Felixstowe for a few days decided we would try the local fish and chips. We wanted to eat in a restaurant rather than takeaway so thought we would try The Regal. Options on fish included haddock and rock eel. We had three options on the size of fish. I opted for the large rock eel and my partner had a small haddock. Each came with chips and an option of sides. I have to say the food was lovely the fish in our opinion was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend. The service was also very good and clearly this was a popular restaurant judging by how busy it was. Would also suggest booking a table in advance given the popularity. Think if we visited again I would opt for a smaller size of fish though as the large was a bit of a struggle.
Brilliant Fish & Chip Shop & Restaurant. Very welcoming & friendly Staff. I had Haddock, Mushy Peas & Chips, which was perfectly cooked. Portion sizes were great as well. Made for a brilliant lunch. We can't wait to visit again!
This place is off the charts, 10 out of 10 on everything. Just be warned the Large cod is very large, Jumbo in most places. The staff are incredible, polite, helpful and very well turned out. The place is so clean and well laid out, lots of space to move with a tripper/pram or wheel chair. The only thing I found was the toilet access is a little tight but the facilities are very good. How I have been going past for so many years is a mystery but, I will be back.
When you look up the word “Chippy” in the dictionary you will see Regal Fish Bar. I don’t tend to write reviews but felt compelled to after trying their battered sausage. People will tell you that chips are “simple” or “easy to do” but the team at Regal elevate the humble potato to the next level and then some. Suffolk used to be a chip shop no-go-zone but I’m here to tell you, pack your bags, get in the car and get down to Felixstowe. Mines a battered sausage, small chips and curry sauce.
Came today 29/1/23 for my Dads Birthday, hadn't pre orderedoooops sorry , there was 25 of us , food came piping hot and all at the same time .lovely staff and lovely food would definitely recommend. What turned out to be a sad dayscattering Mums ashes to a Happy Birthday , even ate Dads Birthday cake there , which they didn't mind us doing. Thank you all at The Regal . Tracey Chappell and family .
There's only one word for this place....AMAZING!!!! The food looked so good when it came out that we started tucking in before I remembered to take pictures. The only thing that could be improved on would be homemade tartare sauce instead of Heinz.
We had to wait about 40 minutes, but definitely worth the wait! The best fish and chips in Felixstowe by far! Definitely will be returning soon!!
