Arrived around midday on a Saturday with my dog. Was greeted and served very quickly. Asked where I could sit with the dog, pretty much anywhere apart from the family area. Very dog friendly staff and customers. Very good experience will definitely return
Lovely family friendly pub. Me and the family all enjoyed our meal here. The staff were very attentive and thoughtful when it came to our 2 year old! The actual pub was clean and well presented. Highly recommended trying the mixed grill here.
First time visiting The Raven on remembrance Sunday with family. We pre booked a table as there was 10 of us visiting the table and seating area is very spacious so your not all cramped in when eating. Joshua served us at the till with excellent service asking all the right questions about allergies etc, while I was ordering the food Kerry the Chef came out and asked me a few questions about the meals which I was ordering offering me alternative items which was fantastic service. When the food arrived we all got it at the same time so no one was waiting for their food while others ate which can be the case when in large groups, overall the food and service was fantastic and a great price everyone was very impressed we will definitely visit again.
I asked for the allergen book and was told I couldn’t have it as it was out of date. This is against the law! I was told to use my phone but not everyone has a mobile phone, especially the older generation. And not everyone comes out with full battery or data.
Lovely food, staff are nice. So pleased it's the new local
Positively surprised by the quality of food well done for nice moist chicken as normally restaurants make it dry. It was my 2nd time visiting the pub and I will be definitely coming back.
Popped in for a spot of Valentines lunch with my wonderful wife, the staff are always friendly & polite. Will come again
Having eatten here before we thought, bank holiday lets go out for a good meal.Nope.Starters took forever and was disappointing , the Bbq sauce was more like tomato sauce. Main meal of steak, medium rare was over cooked, my well done steak was boot leather. The desserts were plain, and the lemon cheesecake was like shaving foam, another one was over cooked and dry. The toilets had toilet paper on the floor of each one, and even though it was bank holiday it was very quiet.Be along time before we come back.
My visit to The Raven can only be described as enthusiastically mediocre. Like many British pubs from my youth, it seems this one has been moulded to be yet another cookie-cutter gastro pub with very average food and less than desirable decor. What's even more unfortunate was the lack of attentiveness by staff. One stand-out member was very friendly and he even took the empty glasses away from the table, however, we were left to our own devices for the most part and felt ignored. We weren't patrons: we were a nuisance. The food was...fine. Was it exceptional? No. Was it awful? Also no. It was just food and it was edible, that's the best I can summarise on that front. Despite its marketing, I wouldn't describe this as a fun place to go. It was rather drab, despite the lavish, green walls. I probably won't be returning for a second meal but, if you're in the area and fancy something other than the Harvester/Frankie & Bennys/McDonalds/whatever else is around, then sure: it'll suffice.
Really nice food good prices and friendly staff members,
