The Fat Cat is a real ale pub, we serve real ciders, a selection of wines, gin and premium mixers. Dogs are welcome in our large beer garden too!

Story

The Fat Cat was opened in December 1996 and has established itself as a much loved part of the Ipswich community. We have gained countless awards over the years including CAMRA's Winners of Ipswich Pub of the Year 2016, Community Pub of the Year and many others as well as receiving a write up in The Times mag for our lovingly home prepared Scotch Eggs. We use locally sourced food ingredients as much as we can and have a premium selection of real ales, ciders, wines, spirits and mixers.
We have a beautiful beer garden with established vine and hops, a cosy smoking hub and dogs are most welcome as long as they are on leads please.
We supply lots of lovely merchandise for you to take home as well as carry out containers for your favorite tipple should you want to go home!
We enjoy acoustic afternoons and evenings every now and again with local bands dropping by and have regular quiz nights, BBQ's and theme evenings, our Gin Tasting night went down rather well recently, please keep your eyes out for more theme nights over the coming year. If you enjoy board games we have a large selection here for you as well as crib boards and cards.
We also are very happy for you to join us and order your favorite take away, we supply real plates and cutlery and all we ask is that you load them into our dishwasher when you have eaten. Please come in and see us soon!
