A friendly bar with friendly locals. There's live music most weekends and is a lot of fun. It isn't a quiet pub, of which Whaley Bridge has plenty, but it is ideal if you fancy sinking one too many and singing along to the music.

Visited the High Peak recently on a walking weekend with a group of 4 other walkers, and were wandering decided to bob into the Railways, after eating out locally on a friday night, and as they say the rest is history. There was a lovely atmosphere in the place, and a Disco was in full flow. Not jam packed busy, but we found the locals a really good bunch, and the music was varied and pretty good. The following night we decided to go back as a band were playing (Pyjamas??). The place was pretty busy, and the band were great. Service remained good despite being pretty busy, and the crowd were appreciative and respectful to the musicians, all too a rarity when theres live music nowadays. SUNDAY DINNER - one word - FABULOUS! No mushy veg, great beef and a Yorkshire pud that should have had its own postcode. I am always worried of being served something akin to school dinners when have a Sunday Pub Lunch, however i neednt have worried. A decent range of reasonably priced drinks, and the staff really couldnt do enough for us. Overall I would give this place a big 10 out of 10, one complaint??? I GENUINELY couldnt find one. I would high;ly recommend a visit. Thanks to all the staff, you really made our weekend a treat. James & Dan Willy & Di, Bob & Rita

A pub trying to make a difference putting on live bands and now guest ales. It can get very busy in here on weekends. My advice is get served in the back room before wandering though to the main bit.
