Lovely little hotel and bar, lovely staff and they don't do food but they allow you to bring in your own....so we took in a kebab and Sarah the bar person got us plates, knives and forks and got rid of our rubbish. Prices were good and the town its in has plenty going on. Walks along the canal and we had breakfast in the community centre which was a little overpriced but friendly, they also have a collection of shops and a museum.
Had a fun drink in here after work on Friday. Great fun atmosphere. Locals obviously absolutely love it. Made to feel very welcome and very enjoyable. Loved the Game of Thrones Dragon chair as well!Service: 5/5
The room, can't fault. Roomy, warm, comfortable, well equipped, has personality, clean. Would 100% reccomend it. Great parking. Good location to get about. The 3 star, no food that day as prepping for the next day? The whole day... The following morning checking out, pubs shut? I'd stay again though.
The owners were very welcoming, going the extra mile. Arrived late from London, no taxi available for next day but owner drove me to the hospital. Amazing !!Rooms: 4/5
A quiet, well situated establishment. I had a comfortable room but the bathroom was a bit cramped. The food and service was very good and a wide variety of drinks were available at the bar. Prices are good.
If your looking for rustic then this is for you, The bar was spacious and a great selection of beer on tap, but it was more like a locals pub than a hotel. The room we stayed in was dated but clean except for the carpet which was in need of either a deep clean or replacing altogether. Check if there is entertainment on before you go, if your looking for a quiet getaway, because if there is forget it, noise from the Halloween party went on until one in the morning and the music echoed round the building. Apart from that the beds were comfortable but if your looking for anything over three star this won't be for you.
Unfortunately we left it a little late for booking a family meal for Mother’s Day and our usual choices of places were booked up, however we decided to call the Radstock Hotel who were not only happy to accommodate us for a large family booking but served us delicious meals which were served piping hot and ample portions and competitive prices. Nothing was to much trouble at all were very pleased. Great time had by all many thanks to the manager and staff much appreciated, looking forward to our return
This review may be unfair to the venue, as I did not have a drink or try the food, and is based on the short and unwelcoming experience created by the patrons. Atmosphere is a big part of a pub, neither of the bar staff made any attempt to welcome me as a new customer to the venue, and the other patrons made it so uncomfortable that I turned around and left. How did they do this? Chatter stopped as I entered and they gave me serious, aggressive glares. Not just a casual glance to see who has walked in, but lengthy staring. The "how dare you come into OUR pub" kind of stare. That is how venues die, by being unwelcoming to new custom. How terrible that the local Wetherspoons has a better atmosphere than a quiet rural pub.
Stayed here new years day. Extremely friendly reception on arrival. Very helpful when it appeared I booked 2 rooms for one night, probably due to a glitch my end! Room 7 was lovely, clean and had a nice view of the centre of Radstock. This wasn't my first visit and won't be my last, the hotel is full of charecter and in a fantastic location. The landlord joked "it's not the Hilton, but it's clean!". In actual fact I'd rate the Radstock higher than the Hilton any day. It is clean, very homely and in an ideal location to escape for a short break being very close to both Bath and Bristol but without the hustle and bustle of both. Midsomer Norton is very close and offers a great selection of takeaways etc if arriving later. Thank you for a great stay, look forward to coming back.
OK place to drink. Had Sunday roast lunch and that was very nice with lovely veg. My choice was roast lamb and came with red and green cabbage and roast carrots and realy nice slice is sage and onion stuffing, not something I rate highly normally. Lovely ri h gra ey. This I washed down with some draught Guiness- very nice! Lovely options for desert but tealy did not have space.
