An absolute delight after a walk on a cold, wet winter's day. Really nice pub, good beer, warm fire - all rather like stepping outside the cares of the world for a few hours.

Proper pub this is. Warm and welcoming after a walk in the area. Good beers.

By looking at the other reviews I think we went at a bad time on a bad day, but it was just atrocious. We walked in, the greeting was non-existent - I said hello - it was ignored - nobody else inside. Ordered drinks, - instant coffee only - nice one - chap behind the bar not a clue about anything. Ordered food, 40 mins later another chap brought out a plate with four slices of pre-cut loaf with marg on. Delicious. Explained that the situation was nonsense and gave us a refund, but I've never known anything like it. Quite bizarre. Food and Drink value 0 stars. Entertainment value - priceless.

Great little pub the landlord Ken is really welcoming . Lovely warm and coasy bar with open fire .beers good not a massive range but it's all good . Ken sells packs of local beer and eggs from his chicken s that wonder around outside . He's got a dart bord and pool room it's a really throw back to simpler times . Don't ask for pissecco ,hippster beers or food past a pork pie . Worth a visit

A very old school traditional ale pub. No food. Pies from the bar and ale. Definitely no prosecco!
