I had been wanting to try a Sunday roast menu in London for awhile and came across this place on Time Out. I was blown away by the quality of all the dishes and hospitality of the staff. I was dining solo and they made me feel very comfortable and not rushed. The menu was a good value and sticky toffee pudding was to die for! Loved this place so much I came back the next day with friends for after-dinner drinks and dessert. Looking forward to my next opportunity to visit when I come back to London!
Such a great atmosphere and beautiful interiors! We had the 3 course Sunday roast with the cured duck and cured salmon starters and then pork and chicken roast dinners. Really generous portion sizes, delicious meat and huge Yorkshire puddings! The chocolate mousse dessert was equally fantastic. Really great wine and cocktail menus too, I’d definitely recommend trying the Shoreditch old fashioned. We will definitely be back to try the weekday a la carte menu!
We came here for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the food and pub atmosphere. We opted for the 3 courses and I had the salmon nice and fresh, sirloin of beef with potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy generous portion and well cooked beef, the cauliflower cheese great side to have with the roast and the sticky toffee pudding delicious. All the staff were friendly and the service was great.
Amazing food. And very accessible pricing for fine dining quality. Great menu with lots of exciting choices brilliantly executed. We tried many things across the menu to share around the table but some of us ended up reluctant to share! Started off with a good sign - unique yummy-wow bread melty scones and indulgent canapés/tasters. Highlights for me were the dreamy creamy artichoke dish, the lamb, the green beans with Stilton and caramelised onions and walnuts. Tried but couldn’t pick a fave desert, as they were all great - tart tatin with a tamarind twist so crunchy and perfect, wonderfully rich and aerated chocolate mousse topped with crunchy caramelised hazelnuts with financier on the side, and lovely light and refreshing rhubarb trifle. Really nice that the pub bit downstairs is dog friendly. Perfectly comfortable but decor downstairs not really congruent with the standout food - maybe that will come. Different vibe upstairs but no dogs. A great find and under-exposed gem of the Shoreditch foodie scene. Can’t wait to go back.
Was looking for a nice place to have lunch around Shoreditch and found the online reviews of this place very positive. Planned to stop here on our day out and was not disappointed. Friendly staff and great food. The place has a traditional feel with some very nice fittings upstairs mirror, ceiling lightings making this place have a contemporary, but classical building feel lovely Iron spiral staircase while may not be wheelchair accessible, was a lovely feature of the building. The Food did not disappoint given its history and background of chefs that have contributed to its menu and direction. We planned to go here based on location and online reviews… will come back next trip to london for sure. Very enjoyable lunchtime dining experience… I said i would review
Outstanding lunch. Clever, modern and delicious flavours. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable service. Extremely well priced. Surprised it’s not in the Michelin guide.Food: 5/5
My experience at the Princess of Shoreditch has been nothing short of delightful. This charming gastropub stands out for its sophisticated selection of dishes and the quality of its ingredients. The service is truly exceptional, making everyone feel at home. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary expertise behind the menu. I particularly recommend starting with the shared nibbles, which are perfect for setting the tone of a lovely meal. The ambiance is wonderfully cozy, making it an ideal spot for dinner. Additionally, their Sunday roast is a must-try – it's not only generous in portion but also super flavourful. I can't wait to come back very soon!
I visited the princess last Thursday with two friends and it was absolutely amazing! It was their soft launch with their new chef Nikita previous winner of masterchef professionals and you can definitely tell by the delightful food. We were served by Elise and she made sure to give us the perfect service. We were given complimentary canopies and herb butter and scones, then started with the Beef and Oyster Tartare, Chaat and the Octopus to choose a favourite would be impossible as I was blown away by all three. For a main I had the Lamb and it was absolutely delicious. Than for dessert we had the trifle, Tarte Tatin and the Chocolate Choux Bun which I tried my best to finish even though I was stuffed. Overall an exceptional meal, Thank you Princess.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Princess of Shoreditch with my colleagues, and I must say, it was the best meal I have had in ages. The presentation of the food was nothing short of artistic. Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and passion for culinary excellence. The flavours were equally impressive, with a perfect balance of taste and texture in every bite. The starters were exquisite and I thoroughly enjoyed the Tatare dish; it was the best I have ever tasted so far. It was evident that the chef put a lot of thought and creativity into each dish. In conclusion, Princess of Shoreditch offers an unparalleled dining experience with its exquisite food, impeccable service, and talented chef. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family, and I look forward to visiting again soon.
Had our first Sunday roast here and so glad that we did. The entire 3 course menu was delicious and felt like it was an elevated spin to a beloved classic. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a great first experience to a Sunday roast.Food: 5/5
