Local pub just around the corner, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Pizzas are delicious, if you are lucky and they have the apple strudel available, don't miss out - one of the best ever! Decent prices for a Greenwich pub!
I would like to be more enthusiastic. In the past, pizzas great, and worth the long wait for them to emerge from the kitchen. Last Saturday with overseas guests, we traipsed up Royal Hill -- we arrived 1pm and the bar wasn't even fully open. Who ever heard of that? It did open shortly after, but we had reserved a table at 1pm for drinks and dinner. The food was ordered, but only at 13.45 as the small number of "serving" staff did not seem particularly interested in serving anything. The pizzas took 45 minutes to come, which was frankly ridiculous. No-one really cared except the customers and to be frank they were a tad underwhelming to taste, though boy were we hungry. £116 for 5 people. Overall, a disappointment on the day, and we will find other better pubs in and around Greenwich. A pity, as its "Cabinet of Curiosities" vibe was good, though maybe should not have extended to the staff running it.
Absolutely wonderful place - always a warm and welcoming atmosphere from Pietro and Paola. Plus the food is delicious! Had my recent birthday here and despite being heaving the mark of a popular venue!, they made it special and personal. Thank you, Paula as Pietro wasn't well that day xxx
This is genuinely one of the finest pubs in London. It’s a family run pub and feels like being invited into a good friend’s front room for an afternoon of conviviality. With open fires and comfy sofas it is the perfect place to while away a winter’s afternoon. We had delicious home made pizza at very reasonable prices. The chef was very accommodating of my children’s special/awkward off menu requests which was really kind. Highly recommended and so much better than many of the corporate places aimed at tourists in Greenwich.
Bf told me this is his favourite pub in England. Finally had a chance to visit this place with him and I must say, it's pretty good. Welcoming owner who immediately warm-heartedly greets you with "welcome home" on the way out of the pub, I notice the sign at the entrance that also reads "welcome home". Nice atmosphere and great lighting. The eclectic decor is a feast for your eyes. Staff got one of our orders wrong but that's ok, we all make mistakes sometimes. Didn't have to wait long for our actual main to arrive. Hope to visit this place again when they have the live band playing.
Came here to eat and have a drink after visiting the near-by planetarium and observatory. The food was great with a wide selection of beers. The waiters were quick, helpful and polite. If i was in the area, i would certainly come here again.
It's a very unique spot to visit in Greenwich. We visited on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. The pub's decor is full of fascinating treasures, which some say were collected during the owner's travells. Either way, it's definitely worth a visit!Service: 4/5
the best pub in london! a wonderful atmosphere where as soon as you enter you are greeted by pietro who even if you have never met him before treats you like an old friend! the food here is fantastic! genuine sicilian family food that is very reasonably priced! pizza is particularly good! good beer selection, amazing wines, live jazz music, and a really friendly vibe make this pub a rare gem. support your local independent pubs!
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. There was a nice touch of a guy playing a live acoustic guitar session. One let down was the dished ordered arrived when others had been finished or just not at all! None the less will be revisiting again
This was the third visit. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere and amazing service. Will be coming back more regularly! Btw, is this on Google maps as a hotel? I didn't know they had rooms?Rooms: 5/5
