Wish i was around during the points glory days. Would love for it to instead of being knocked down, have the inside refurbished and perhaps changed into maybe a couple small shops, or something to benefit the populous more. Apart from that, its still a cool little blast from the past from the 80s.
The Point was designed as an entertainment complex in and is still found in central Milton Keynes.nIt opened in 1985 and was called the UK's first multiplex cinema.nThe front part of the building has a distinctive mirrored crystal ziggurat shape, framed by external steel beams at each corner, joined at the apex. It used to have red neon lights connecting the apexes at each side, so that it looked like a pyramid at night.nThe building's owners announced in 2012 proposals to demolish the building and replace it with a retail-based development.nBut it's presently still standing but is now looking a shadow of it previous self.
The Point is the centre of Milton Keynes, so as a town centre it has everything! The indoor shopping centre is massive with both chains and independents Can be pricey in some stores but you get what you pay fornnThere's a decent lego store there and every kind of eateries you can think of, including vendors and chains.nnThere's definitely something for everyone there, a good place for a day shopping trip
Iconic venue now reduced to being a 1 room nightclub - with builder's toilets and no seating. Tried enthusiastically to find the main room before realising I was in it. Still, by Milton Keynes' standards, it's as close to culture as you'll get.
The former neo cinema it looks as it was precious and historic place in past and unfortunately at the moment it looks it has been left to its ruined, as no one cares about it. We've been there and we tried to bring back its old best.
