Story

The Plough Hotel sits in the picturesque village of Scalby, just outside Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast and is the perfect gateway to the majestic North York Moors and the National Park with its stunning dales and moorland walks.

The Plough has been at the heart of Scalby village since 1899 and has recently undergone a major refurbishment, transforming the building inside and out. Today it's owned by Scalby residents Nick and Sandra Thomas who have created a venue full of character and charm, combining luxury and comfort in effortlessly stylish surroundings.

This friendly country pub/restaurant provides the perfect place for a spot of lunch, a delicious dinner and a drink or two as well as a unique and stunning stopover retreat, offering eight luxury en-suite bedrooms.

The Plough is run by people who are dedicated to good food, warm hospitality and personal service.

The Plough is the latest addition to the HQ Collection - a group of family-owned pubs/restaurants and rooms which include the award-winning Copper Horse Restaurant & Cottages and the popular Mayfield Hotel, Pub & Carvery in Seamer. The HQ Collection is part of the national company, Qdos Entertainment Group (qdosentertainment.com) which is owned by Nick and Sandra Thomas who have lived in Scalby village for 30 years.
