Visited on a warm Sunday evening & sat in their lovely, well kept beer garden while the locals were having a pub quiz - and very popular by the looks of how many busy tables they had inside! 5 Would love to visit again soon
6 of us went for Sunday lunch yesterday 3 Adults, 3 Children and were very impressed! Friendly staff from the moment we phoned to book Only 1hr in advanceto the moment we left. Food was delicious and big portions on the roasts ! Very good value for money too compared to the local area, drinks and food. Very child friendly and accomadating. A great pub - keep up the good work !
Been visiting this pub yearly for the February horse racing at Newbury obviously bar Covid and it has always been amazing and welcoming until we visited this year - what a complete change and as I understand there is new management and oh boy they’ve obviously no control over the pub customers nor staff. We were booed when we walked in from obvious locals, told by management that the kitchen was closed even though it was obviously open as when a bell went off someone scurried off and brought food out of the kitchen and everything we asked for drinks wise was out of stock or not stocked. Huge shock for any hospitality establishment to behave like this in this day and age. We’d had a good day at the races lots of winnings and we would have spent lots here but went elsewhere Why did the Plough in the Green remove my review - don’t they like honest reviews? They prefer fake friends and family reviews instead - be warned
Had a lovely meal for our grandsons birthday with great service as we were a large party and it was mothers day as well. Each Mummy got a rose too! Prices were very fair and won't hesitate to go back again.
Our first visit to this pub and we left wondering why we hadn’t visited before. We had lunch and it was delicious and excellent value for the money. Staff were friendly. We will definitely return in the near future.
Brilliant Christmas meal with 8 friends. Standard of food was really good. It was delicious and hot and great service from Georgia. Proper pub!! Thanks all we had a lovely time
Have been going to the Plough on the Green regularly now for around a year. Since Kirstie and Robin took over in July 2022, the pub has only gone from strength to strength. Excellent food, well priced drinks, with a wide selection to choose from, very friendly staff, especially Dani and Georgina, and an overall wonderful, inviting atmosphere. They also give back to the local community with various charity raffles and weekly games, where a healthy part of the proceeds go to excellent causes such as Dingley's Promise. In addition, they extend a warm welcome to any customer, be they new or regular, and offer some great evenings to be had, such as the weekly poker night as well as the good old pub quiz! In my eyes, the best pub in Newbury, keep up the good work guys!
Traditional pub serving burgers, steaks, substantial puddings, etc. well prepared with friendly service. Very small car park but plenty of nearby street parking. Ordering is at the bar. Modern contactless payment options
The staff are all professional and polite. They know their stuff and always remember the names of all patrons. I've been coming here for three months and always feel welcome and appreciated. Such a welcoming and warm atmosphere since all the patrons know one another.
Friendly staff offering a warm welcome. Good range of food options. Food was excellent - best onion rings ever. Great value for money.
