A brilliant pub in one of the Peak Districts best villages. The Plough serves exceptional food, beyond your standard pub fare. All the meals are excellent, brilliantly prepared and very reasonable. There's a lovely beer garden which is a real suntrap in the summer and the bar has a reasonable range of beers on offer. Very very worthy of a visit, especially for their Sunday lunches, but do make sure that you book before going as it can get busy.

We went here a couple of weeks ago for a birthday and have been back 3 times since. Great choice of beers, spirits, lagers. The food menu has something for everyone and the food is amazingly cooked. Gorgeous wood fires to sit and relax in front of. Lovely atmosphere with amazingly friendly and efficient staff. Take a bow Plough.

First of all the food was actually pretty good but then you have to experience the service which is not, we waited half an hour to be served bearing in mind it was not busy at all and they are not struggling for staff, then a further 35 minutes for bread and olives (we had to asked them where they were to get them). The main then took a further 25 minutes (after we’d finished the starter and plates we’re cleared) which would not have been too bad if we’d not been there for over an hour already. Fortunately the desert arrived in a reasonable time, I fear this was only because we asked them to be quick though. The staff don’t seem to be motivated to provide good service which is a shame because it could be a good place. It felt like they didn’t want to be there or maybe they didn’t want us the customers to be there...either way it should have been better. If you’ve got a spare afternoon to sit and wait around this is the place for you.
