The Plough Inn
"The Plough Inn can be found at the centre of Coldharbour village, located deep within the Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. As well as offering seasonal home cooked food, we also have a barn for private events, six ensuite rooms, a shop and our very own microbrewery. We're very popular with walkers, bikers and tourists with being a great jumping off point for heading up to Leith Hill, where you can find some of the best views in South East England.Using local and artisan products we cook everything from scratch, a rarity amongst many British pubs these days. Our hope when you visit is that you feel you have experienced the very best of a classic country pub!"

The Pub is in a lovely setting and has a cosy feel to it. It would have been 5 stars however the manager made us feel unwelcome and I noticed he was disrespectful to his staff. It really soured our experience. The other staff were nice and helpful. I probably wouldn't come back unless it changes hands.Food: 5/5
Lovely traditional long established pub/ inn nestled in the heart of the wonderful Surrey Hills. After a walk of cycle this pub offers a great friendly welcome no issues with foot attire, muddy or cleated. You’ll receive a heartfelt hello and quickly offered a comprehensive range of local bees and extensive wine list, teas and coffees and differing menu throughout the day healthy breakfasts for the outward bound. Clean and characterful well worth a visit, even just to top up your bidon bottle, just ask for Kev!
Lovely location, friendly welcome. Service slow which was odd as we were early booking, roast Sunday dinner looked good, but vegetables and beef undercooked. Beer was excellent.Food: 2/5
Felt like walking into a friend's living room Could not recommend this place enough. We ended here by chance due to a cancelled flight at Gatwick airport, and we could not have ended up at a better place. We got welcomed with open arms by the wonderful staff who did everything to take care of us the moment we walked in the door. There was a fire in the stove, and delicious home-brewed ale, they let us use the kitchen after closing hours. We ended up staying in the bar chatting with the staff and locals. Super cozy place. Clean rooms and a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere. If you run into Kevin you know you are in great hands. Hug from Karl and Janitza to the staff!
I been here 5 years ago...this pub was a fantastic, fabular place...midle of the woodland. Totally changed. One staff's family was everywhere there. Children walked, talked loudly in the restaurant. The food was tasty, but no atmosphere. The place is tired and dirty. Sad. The Irish girl in the bar was really polite. Thank you for her.
Not stayed in the rooms nor eaten in the pub, but it's always a friendly atmosphere no matter the time or day. Location is right in the heart of Surrey Hills next to Leith Hill that offers free car parking. A proper English country pub. Great pub to stop off at when finishing a walk or bike ride on Leith Hill. We will be popping back again. Food & drinks: Just popped in for a few drinks, but the food did look good and was tempted to have lunch. Only held off as we had dinner previously planned elsewhere. Parking: Depending on the time of the day at weekends the car park runs out of spaces.
Really nice pub although we were surprised when we were told they did not have enough food for us to eat there since they had a lot of bookings coming in later that day. We were there around 13:30 and it was relatively quiet with half the place empty, so not sure what the deal was. They were nice enough to offer us some cheesy chips and a side salad though. Really strange experience. The food the other patrons had looked really good though. It’s just odd that you can’t walk in to a pub and eat food in 2023. I would love to know what the reason for this is?
Popped in for lunch However no bar food so had to take a table..we ordered Irish srew and dumplings. The amount of food was definitely not worth the .money also the two tiny dumplings were like bullets had to try and soak in gravy to soften..Will not be going back there.
Delicious lunch here are a long walk, great choice and excellent service. Food was amazing and couldn't have been made to feel anymore welcome.Service: 5/5
