Not the best food or service. The bar area not very big. The pub is cute and has great walks around it but wouldn't rush back personally. They didn't seem very accommodating in the beginning and seemed to not be bothered if we stayed or not. I had a burger was probably the worst I have had in a while. The patty was dry and chips OK. If it wasn't for the surroundings I would have given it 1 star. @saffa_foodie Reply to the owner.. You seem to always make excuses on your replies as noticed on some of the others. Just cause your busy doesn't excuse bad food quality or service. Just cause no one complained to you doesn't mean they liked it. We didn't complain we just won't come again and hence this review. I spend alot of time reviewing places and yours has received one of my few bad reviews. Their is no cost for good customer service so best you try and improve this. I have now changed my review as following your excusereply I don't think the 2 star was worth it.
Stopped off here after a long walk. Friendly staff who welcome dogs. Food was good although the steak in the sandwich my wife ordered was virtually raw see photo she took half of it home to re-cook later rather than complain that is her way. But this is personal taste - so if you order be sure to specify the cooking of the steak. The place was warm and inviting - not very busy on a cold Thursday so perfect for a sneaky snack. The fish pie was nice but seemed to me slightly expensive at over £15 with no chips included. There is no mobile signal here and the WIFI did not cover the whole bar so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world do you really! this is not the pub for you. Overall nice place - certainly will visit again.
Good was great and staff were very friendly, I didn't like their coffee creme brulee but that was my own undoing! Try the pheasant and steak pie it was delish
Lovely little pub down the country lanes. Perfect for when out on a walk. Parking could be an issue if busy. Very dog friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and although we only shared a starter the food menu looked good and our starter was delicious.
Stopped off for a shandy on a gorgeous spring day. Beautiful pub in a stunning location. Good service and selection of drinks, especially gin. Worth a stop.
I visited this pub because it was advertised as the most secluded pub in Surrey, for lunch. It definitely lives up to its name as you’ll have to drive very narrow country lanes to get to it. But well worth the trip. The building is very quirky, and almost by itself after a little pond. Food was all sourced from local farms, artisans and producers, and you could tell as it was exceptional. I parked in the overflow car park just up the hill as recommended on the website as the car park in front of the pub is very small. Word of advice - before you do that on rainy periods, go down to check whether the access road to the pub is flooded - it was when we went and had to trudge through ankle-deep mud to avoid the flooded road. That said it’s drivable.
Cosy quiet restaurant with an open terrace outside. We only had drinks so cant say anything about the rest of the menu. Nice area to walk your dog.
A pub pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Great after a walk in the country. Well presented and dog friendly. Lots of room to sit outside after a day on the bikes too. Beer and food were great but rather disappointingly incredibly small portions which were not represented in the price. Partner ordered a dish for sharing but to be honest was what you would expect to be served for one in most other eateries. My food was some of the best I have tasted although I wish I had ordered two to avoid leaving whilst still hungry. Whilst I understand that the quality of the ingredients helps make beautiful, tasty food and also carries a premium it should not mean that smaller portion sizes are served. We will return but sadly not if we're hungry.
Lovely pub set in beautiful countryside. We discovered it on a day out. Just had drinks. Great selection of real ale for hubby and gin for me. We didn't eat there but the food we saw people eating looked wonderful. Dog friendly. Outside eating area. Will definitely visit again for lunch.
Always a nice pub to go to. It's a longer walk but I prefer the Friday street car park to the pubs own one. The children really enjoyed their food, but our slightly greedy boy was definitely under fed by the children's menu. I would gauge it as suitable for ages 2 to 6. However the food was deliciously prepared, we had burgers which were beautifully cooked and designed, and chips which were perfectly cooked. The only ding was that they lost our order however they were exceptionally kind to us in sorting the problem out, and did great customer service to solve the issue
