Well run established pub in the heart of a sleepy village in Kent. Food is good pub grub and a fine selection of beers. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is off the road and close to the door. There is something as strange about the knocking noise in Room 1. Walkability: Lots of nice walks around the village to stretch your legs after a meal.
Stayed here overnight before catching the Euro tunnel, which was 25mins drive away. Lovely village pub. Warm welcome, good food. Rooms were excellent. Breakfast in the morning was great quality and fantastic valueRooms: 5/5
Lovely place, clean and comfortable. Perfect for where we were going and what we needed. Friendly staff and great breakfast.Rooms: 5/5
A typical English inn with a charming pub and several lovingly decorated rooms close to Dover ferry port about 20 minutes drive. Super comfortable beds, coffee and tea in the room, toiletries in the bathroom, everything very clean - what a great place to stay! The host and staff are also very friendly and helpful. For breakfast, not only are there plant-based milk alternatives for coffee, but a full English breakfast is also available in a vegan version. Highly recommended to start your stay in England from there or on the return journey if you have to take the ferry in Dover the other day. We have been there four times and will certainly come again. Food & drinks: Vegan breakfast and Oat Milk for coffee available.
We booked here to stay the night before a cruise out of Dover and were very glad we did. This isn't just a convenient place to spend the night it's a wonderful pub with charm and the most amazingly hospitable staff. Our room was clean, modern and well appointed, with iron, ironing board and hairdryer supplied. There's even wireless phone charging on the bedside clock! As we were staying on a Sunday night, the pub kitchens were closed but we had been given plenty of warning of this when we booked. What we hadn't expected is the extensive list of restaurant and takeaway recommendations. We were even offered a table set in the bar with plates and cutlery to enjoy the superb Indian meal that was delivered from the Star of India in Deal. The breakfast the following morning was also exceptional. We could only manage the 'small breakfast' but there was a huge amount of options on offer, something to suit everyone. I would definitely book to stay here again if I was visiting the area.
Nice little pub. Not too big. Only had a pint but it was lovely Food & drinks: Good selection of ales, lagers, cider and spirits.
What an amazing place!! Thanks for a wonderful stay. A warm and friendly welcome. Firstly, the rooms were lovely. Clean, well appointed, comfy beds, great powerful shower! Very modern and absolutely everything you could need. If I can give one improvement that others might ask for, put in a full length mirror! I’m not bothered, but I know some people like one. A first rate place to stay. Secondly, breakfast! Wow! Huge and yummy. Fantastic ingredients and everything you could possibly have on a cooked breakfast. Great coffee. This place is superb, thank you !
We spent 4 nights to attend our sons marriage. We could not have been made more welcome, by Brian, Roy and all their staff. The food was great, the rooms very clean and spacious, even the local customers were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return.Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Lovely little village pubRooms: 5/5
We got there pretty late at night so we missed the view that some people have mentioned. They had a live band playing 80s music which was good and the host reassured us that it would end around 11pm which it did. Getting here after dark isn't too easy as it's in-between fields so there weren't street lights. That said, you could see the stars! The room was dainty, extremely clean and the water pressure was great. Their bed is one of the best I've slept on in the UK!
