Very good local pub with a friendly atmosphere. The decor is classic old school, the are 2 very nice, old looking wood burning stoves. The bar staff were friendly enough and the beers on tap were very reasonably priced, especially for a pub down south! We went on a Friday and it was busy, but I think that adds to the atmosphere, but turn up early to get a table if you're a big group. I will definitely be returning on the not too distant future and recommending this pub to friends and family. Oh, and it is cash only, so come prepared.

Stumbled on the Plough.... O how happy I've been... a proper pub ... no juke box or other rubbish machines.. it's not got some rubbish plastic menu with frozen chips and cardboard burgers. It just sells great beer and the customers talk to each other .... bliss..! Please go but cherish it, don't ruin it, respect it....

I travel all over the UK and visit hundreds of pubs every year... and The Plough is still the best pub I've visited in all those years. An ever changing range of real ale all at a very reasonable price from barrels racked behind the bar. No machines or music. Baguettes served at lunchtime. Baked potatoes and a range of hot nibbles served at quiz nights and other occasions. Terry is a consummate host supported by Ben. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit!

Proper pub, proper beer in barrels. They have Fosters on tap, but I’ve never seen anyone drink it!

Nice atmosphere, brie and bacon baguette was tasty and the beer selection looked solid. Only possible enhancement I'd like is a few more additions to the food menu, otherwise great!
