Came in and ordered a hot chocolate! Alice the server was absolutely lovely. Very chatty and welcoming init the pub . Always nice to see her when i come.
Popped in with my mother for a lovely pub style steak ciabatta.. well got a lovely bit of steak with a plastic bag melted onto it fake American cheese. Where was the lovely cheddar? The red onion chutney? Katie Prices baps have seen more butter than that ciabatta.. don't even get me started on the side salad.. saw a couple snails hanging on the plant pot next to me watering at the mouth.nnIf you order here.. I hope you like rocket and ummm only rocket all by itself!nnFire the chef or send him to culinary school.. not the pub grub I was looking for nnSuch a shame because the venue and atmosphere were stunning. The food let it down massively!
I have recently visited this pub the atmosphere was strange, I asked a few locals and they said the place used to be vibrant! However due to the change in landlord it has shifted. The place seems to be understaffed quite a bit, yet someone pointed out the landlady to me and she was just sat down while the poor young lady behind the bar was rushed off her feet! The barmaid however was wonderful and very attentive and chatty when serving me! I wish I could say the same about the new landlady as she really should've helped the barmaid to serve the customers when it was rather busy. The food and service were brilliant though, just a shame that the landlady doesn't seem to care to help the bar staff during busy hours! Unfortunately I've given this place a 2 stars, I'd give it A 1 but the young lady behind the bar was so helpful during my stay. A big thankyou to her for making me seem so welcome!

Proper quality pub food, the gentlemen Jacob was genuinely on point and was egar to help with any questions, this is the fort pub I've been to in a while that actually caters for their customers, providing genuine customer support and a top grade customer servicennI recently moved into tadley and now this.. will and forever be my local boozer for food, drink and of course sports on the telly. Thank you fox and hound
