A nice pub/bar ...a par? Bub? With great vibes inside and out, drinks are very reasonably priced for the venue. They close at 11pm and last orders are at 11pm too, which is great. Located just outside Cabot Circus it's in a prime location for locals and tourists. Would happily come back when next in Bristol.
Really nice pub and pretty good value too but I’m afraid my Sunday lunch wasn’t really up to scratch. The meat was tough but worst of all, the broccoli was totally undercooked. I had to leave most of it as I couldn’t actually cut it! Maybe have a word to the chef…
Bit of a wait today, but well worth it. Nice staff, even though they were so very busy - it was a Sunday lunch day.. The Sunday menu was very minimal, which made it easier to choose to be honest, our table of 9 picked everything on the menu between us and it was all lovely. Including the pudding. Fairly priced too. X
I don’t normally leave reviews but have been compelled since having a roast in the Phoenix today. I was in Bristol from London for the day and happened to go here by chance. It was honestly one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had and the value for money was incredible. Absolutely loved it and for £12 you can’t go wrong!! Would recommend a thousand times over. Thank you - the range of veg that come with it is unbeatable.
Fabulous place.. loads of space outside is brill ..loos are clean staff are friendly and helpful.. cocktails are delicious..
Be sure to pre book! The Roast Beef dinner was amazing and very reasonably priced. This was my first time visiting The Phoenix and I was very impressed, all the outdoor seating is under cover and most seats are in range of heaters. I would definitely recommend a visit and 100% will be returning, I just hope the next time I'm in Bristol it's a Sunday and I'm in time for a roast! Brilliant staff and excellent food, thank you.
Great pub. My first time visiting, but will definitely go back. Lovely food, nice vibe, good selection of beers. Local boozer vibes in the centre of town. Dog and person friendly.
As it comes time for me to leave the area after a couple years, I can honestly say this is the best God damn local I've ever had. There's plenty of space inside and out. Good selection of brews and AMAZING BAR FOOOD!!!! But one thing stands above all the greatness... The people and pup who run and operate the place. No matter what mood your in you'll always leave the bar feeling great. Hard days and happy days get better with every nugget of small talk. I hope I'll be back soon but if I'm not, im gonna miss you guys. Keep being awesome!
Nice location and space. Food and drinks were very good. Strangely with many waiters around one needs to go to the bar to order, pay in advance and serve himself.
Went yesterday with a few colleagues and will not be going back. The owners dog was very unfriendly towards our dog and slightly aggressive. This man I believe he was the owners boyfriend was EXTREMELY horrible to our dog a scared kind nervous rescue who wouldn't hurt a fly, and was in his face shooing him away. We asked him to not treat our dog like that to which he responded very nastily, got in our faces two young women, pointing his finger about how it is the owners dog and can do what it wants and we are just like our dog? Along with a few other things. Got to the point we left back to the garden, a couple who saw the whole ordeal left and said they are long standing customers and won't be returning after that. We also will not be returning. The bartender came out and apologised about how the man was treating us, said it shouldn't have happened but can we keep our dog on the lead next time fair enough but the owners dog will not be on the lead even though it was aggressive. Not a nice place and I would urge everyone to not visit, much nicer pubs around with friendly staff who handle situations much nicer.
