Story

The Crown is in St Nicholas historic Market and it was built on the medieval Bristol Tolzey Court. This court had been a meeting place for Bristol's merchants and had jurisdiction over a wide range of cases involving damage claims or disputed debts. The Crown has occupied this site since 1741. Originally it was the vaulted cellars that formed the original trading area. These were initially known as The Trap, but subsequently became known as The Crown Tap Cellar. There remains a bar in the cellars of The Crown and the new owners have renamed it fittingly The Trap once more. The ground floor Crown as you find it now was extensively refurbished in 1991

Great place for food and live music

Good old crown! What else is there to say?! City centre stalwart. Always makes an appearance on a night out! Great choice of drinks and good atmosphere and decent prices!

A secret treasure, they serve truelly amazing cocktails and the staff are professional and friendly

Good selection of ciders at very reasonable prices, nice food vegan options!, pool table, jukebox... Above all I've always had great service in here even when it's rammed. Staff are efficient but also friendly and happy to chat and laugh, really makes the whole pace feel friendly and homely. Top spot in Bristol, cheers Crown!

Friendly, helpful staff. The place is typical old pub with lovely atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere, standard selection of drinks and it has a pool table.
