Stayed on Thursday night 15th Feb writing this from Room 5 at 11.15pm with very loud music still resounding up from the bar below. Did mention about the music at 18.30 the man I spoke to in the main bar thought it was coming from the kitchen said he would ask it to be turned down. My 2 stars are for the food and service which were both very good.. As I left after the meal I asked again about the music he said it should be OK but to expect some noise due to a promotion being held in the Paper Mill that evening. So when I returned to the room I could still readily here the music I don’t go back and mention it again due to the event being held. I don’t know if the music is on every night but tonight there was no chance of going to bed early for an early start next morning. Fair enough it’s a pub and some noise is probably to be expected. I’d suggest the owner puts the music on under room 5 and pop upstairs see what he thinks is reasonable. PS the music stopped at 11.25pm.

Really nice little country pub. Somewhat in the shade of its neighbour, The Old Hall, but offers something different. Still a good selection of ales but has large TVs which are usually showing sport. Very nice.

Fantastic little pub hidden in the village of Chinley. Great for a social drink or a quiet one during the week. A great range of beers and ciders and regular, top quality guest ales. 11/10.

Always a varied local beer selection, plenty of Thornbridgr options. Cosy atmosphere.
