Wonderfully friendly, helpful staff and one stuck on rules about times rather than suggestions for traditional scottish breakfast which, except for potato scones can be ordered in the brunch menu as pointed out by a kindly fellow patron. Busy, efficient and fabulous place. Bathrooms amazing. Energy wonderful. All different patrons on the family holiday weekend in Largs. Families, families, families. All happy
We stopped in gor a quick bite on a flying visit to Largs. We chose Weatherspoons as the food, service and use of the table ordering app were familiar to us.nWe seated quickly and used the app to order three drinks for our table. The drinks arrived quickly to find an empty glass with just ice in? Why we would order just ice? On asking at the bar i was asked am I sure, as the bar lady had just prepared the drinks? No apology was given just a can of drink passed over the bar with a look that helped me form my review before id even returned to my seat.nThe food arrived shortly afterwards and thankfully was hot and delicious.nThe pub was pleasant with a nice atmosphere and roaring fire on a chilly day outside. My only fault was the lack of empathy for their mistake and service goes a long way in my book and I am keen to always highlight good service, even naming individual staff in my reviews to emphasise the good service given. Here wasn't the case and I would be hesitant in choosing here again.nI would use here if no where else was available but I wouldn't be rushing back to The Paddle Steamer Largs.
Despite being very busy all tables inside taken the staff still offer fast, friendly service of well kept cask conditioned beer
I visited late afternoon for a couple of drinks. I don’t live in Largs so I’m only a casual visitor here. Despite this the server, Lee, remembered me and smiled saying it was good to see me again. I thought that was remarkable and made me feel like a valued customer. He was courteous and pleasant throughout. It is interesting to note that all the customers he served received the same excellent attention. That good start to my visit continued with especially quick service and the drinks are excellent value with the Worthingtons Creamflow poured to perfection. This is a very busy place and I think that makes the excellent service particularly noteworthy. The toilets are on the level and were clean as was the rest of the bar. A five star rated visit and special thanks to Lee for his outstanding hospitality.
Bright and clean Spoonz. Nice open fire in the centre of the pub. Only had coffee and used the toilets which were spotless
