Went here for a family celebration Sunday lunch. Views are wonderful looking over the beach and sea. Tables nicely spaced apart. Dog friendly. Food was amazing, fresh, hot, good size portions as accommodating for all of the groups differing portion requirements. Staff were wonderful- service was great, they were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time - thank you so much
Beautiful setting in the bay of Polzeath, can see the waves from the dining area. We were a party of 8, had a very warm welcome, staff were just lovely. Excellent service all round and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back when we’re in the area again. It had a very relaxed atmosphere and it’s also dog friendly too. Thank you for making our first visit such a good one Oystercatcher.
Been here to eat several times with our children over the last few years, most recently yesterday. Food and service consistently very good - staff always seem genuinely friendly, happy and very attentive. Decent ales always on and good food menu with lots of choices. Food always seems to come out quickly, which is always handy when you’ve got hungry kids! Looking forward to our next visit already.
Absolutely AMAZING service, staff and stay!... Everyone was so accommodating, the whole place has such a lovely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and they helped to make my Husbands birthday extra special! ... Very dog friendly, our pup has made some friends for life here, the staff are knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile, the fact that the restaurant is genuinely dog friendly and you're not sat on the other side to diners is amazing!... The apartment was incredible, clean and a perfect place for us to relax and chill out in the evenings after exploring the beach with the dog! We can't thank everyone enough for all that you have done so far! We are already trying to book another stay!!
We visited last night for the final meal of our holiday in Polzeath and were a little disappointed. The menu looked brilliant and there’s lots of choice, but several of the dishes we ordered between us were a bit lacklustre considering the price point and didn’t always match descriptions. There’s also no table service in the restaurant which was a real shame as it takes away from the overall experience you’d expect in a gastropub especially given the prices as I say. The staff were friendly enough but not very attentive - our dessert arrived before they’d cleared the main dishes, for example, which again is just not what you’d expect in such lovely surroundings in the restaurant.
We enjoyed an amazing meal this evening. My husband shared the seafood platter........delicious! One of my sons had the banana flower "fish" & chips. The other enjoyed the Laksa. Great choices. Suited all my fussy family!
Great location and sensible prices compared to the rest of Polzeath. A simple and unpretentious set-up, does exactly what it says on the tin. Food, beer and wine all good. We were lucky enough to have "table 23" right by the window and looking over the bay - beautiful. We had padron peppers and squid really cuttlefish but everyone calls it squid for starter - both great. Burgers for main course, again very tasty well prepared. Service was very friendly and cheerful, service very quick. Didn't know about Stokes ketchup - way better than Heinz!
Came in for Lunch mid week, we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. We had a prawn laksa, Mediterranean chicken and the goats cheese to start. Everything was absolutely beautiful, couldn’t fault the service or the food.
Lovely relaxed and friendly feel. We have been visiting Polzeath for 40 odd years and will always spend a couple of evenings here. Staff are really friendly and food is good and reasonably priced.
Top Job!! Christmas Day excellence! We had 9 for lunch and Tammy, Kayna, Rhi, El and all the team did an exceptional job to give us everything we wanted and more! Quality and quantity and great service and flexibility! Loved it! Thanks
