Staying with a group of friends very locally we ate at this pub on three nights and had excellent food and service, spending well over £150 a night. On the fourth night I called in to see if they had a table for six and was told that there was a table for six in the bar area. I asked if he could reserve it for 20 minutes so I could go back to our holiday accommodation and fetch the others to which he said no. Obviously we did not go back which was a great shame but it just goes to show that for some customer loyalty means nothing. The only upside was over the next five days we found some lovely Cornish pubs.
Visited with my family a couple of times in the past week, firstly as a largish family group following my niece's wedding. Sunday roast was OK although nothing to gush over. Watery gravy resembling a cup of bovril & dry over cooked turkey. Second visit was a reserved booking as a family of 4 a few days later & we were placed in the restaurant area on this occasion. Korma curry was bland & flavourless. Convinced it was a jar of B&M or equivalent curry sauce with a few cardamon pods & star anise thrown in to make it look like they'd actually made it on site. Southern fried chicken burger was tough in places & pinkish colour in others. My daughter left the chicken & ate the bun. £15 curry & £15 burgers seemed excessive. I don't mind spending money but hate wasting it. Staff seemed pretty apathetic on both occasions & the atmosphere dour. Overpriced, lacklustre & taking good advantage of the fact there is very little in the way of quality eateries in the surrounding area to offer much alternative.
Visited here on Sunday for a drink, really nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. At one end of the pub they have a shop where you can buy a range of local produce. We bought some cornish pasties, really tasty :-Service: 5/5
We had a lovely lunch at the Inn. The quality of the food was good and we will certainly return. The service was friendly and efficient. We ate in one of their pods. We could not get the temperature right. Either too hot or too cold.Food: 4/5
A beautiful village pub with a great menu for adults and children and a huge biscuit for our dog! We were made to feel very welcome both by the staff and locals, with special care taken over certain dietary needs.
Food was good, and staff were friendly. Sadly the service was poor, left waiting for drinks when food had already been brought out, same happened on deserts. Wasn't checked on so was unable to order more drinks inbetween. Table wasn't cleared promptly. It wasn't particularly busy, and there was 4 5 staff about. Perhaps leave people to order through the QR code and drop the table service, it really let the dining out experience down, we was left waiting so much with kids, very frustrating.
Terrible food! Really bad. Not as per the menu at all, a much cheaper version of what was promised ... and then cooked very badly. We complained and fortunately were given a discount. I would never ever go again. The staff were nice though.Food: 1/5
Booked for a Sunday roast for 4 - we had a fussy eating child with us . After not being able to swap out enough of the options on the roast , he went for a kids sausage, mash and peas instead for £7. There was no mash available so we said chips were fine and asked to swap Peas for Carrots. Thought it might be a bit small so asked could it be size up . Waitress suggested adults portion, 3 sausages instead of 2 . As not on menu thought a couple of £ more . Bill came and it was £15 ….. could have had 2 kids meals for less and 4 sausages. Addressed this with the lady that served me who didn’t seem to care less - she said “ I got what I asked for” . So I paid £7.95 for 1 more sausage. She said we had more chips also. Upon asking to speak to a manager she said she was the manager the tall blonde lady I said I have been coming here for 15 years plus and my husband for 30+ years and wouldn’t be coming back. Her reply was “oh well” To say we are disappointed would be an understatement. As above, we & our family have been customers of the Pityme for many years and it’s sad it’s ended this way.
Lovely place, with really well thought out indoor and outdoor dining areas. I really liked the outdoor dining pods for 6 that give you your own space. Oh and the service and food were excellent
Overall not great, first welcome was friendly but than the other lady in the restaurant had a bad attitude and made us feel like a nuisance. No check back no service and the food was below average if can't cooked mussels properly being so close to the sea you have a problem.
