Excellent quiet location tucked away in central Cork near the English Market. The inside was very nice, but we enjoyed the outdoor seating with the dog very dog friendly and even brought her a bowl of water. We arrived shortly after opening so it was basically empty. Lovely staff and food was absolutely delicious, we got mostly small share plates, but the seafood chowder was . Just go ahead and get the big bowl of that.
Really good! A nice little hideaway. Great place for a chill coffee or a bit o day smoozing/ boozing. I believe they do a bottom less brunch for just adding €25 to any meal. The staff here are also extra nice and the washrooms were nice and tidy. It's also worth mentioning that I got a capachino here and it was lovely. Very creamy, smooth blend and most importantly, hot . Not bad for a bar coffee lads, ye did yerselves proud.
Had a great time here at this spot several days ago. Food was excellent. Really loved the oysters with the lemon sorbet- never tried it that way, but it was so good. Fisherman’s chowder was also pretty legendary as described on the menu. I’d had it a few other places while in Ireland and this was the best of them. Service was stellar. Hannah, our waitress was kind and patient despite us being a group of 8 with a ton of questions- a real delight. One of the chefs chatted with me outside and made some great recommendations about things to do on our visit. Will definitely return when I’m in the area again.
We had an absolutely wonderful time here around a week ago. Service was 10/10, everyone was really friendly and warm and it was also visible how the staff helped each other out. Food was great and atmosphere was also superb. The rooms are pretty with soft and excellent acoustics, music was on low volume which was really appreciated, was a wonderful chill and relaxed vibe. We absolutely recommend this excellent place : Thank you for making our visit so good!
My friend and I needed a place to eat after we hit the Blarney Castle, so I found this on Google Maps. Very lovely place with delicious food and fantastic service! It is just off of St. Patrick's Street, stored in what looks like a secret alley. Me being a seafood guy, I ordered the seafood chowder and it was out of this world. I also got hooked up with some delicious chips as well. My friend ordered the steak dish and he loved it too. I paired my meal off with a nice medium dry Irish cider. Last but not least, we were very pleased at how hospitable our server made the environment for us. He always checked up on us and made sure we were pleased with our orders. Me being from the States, this is some of the best service I have received in any restaurant. If you're in the area or simply touring around like me, try this place out. You will not regret it!
Very nicely situated in the heart of Cork City Centre. There was a high level of service provided by the staff, and the quality of the food was exquisite.
Food was delicious. Very disappointed with the service. We had booked a table and ended up seated downstairs. We were basically forgotten about and were waiting ages to be served our mains after I got my starter. One of our party had to ask where our food was. We were celebrating a 50th and had given a candle to be brought out with dessert and it was forgotten. 3 desserts ordered and we were left off paying for them because of the disastrous night. They were extremely busy but shouldn't have booked us in if they couldn't cope. Very disappointed.
Typical pub food. A bit old but the ambiance is chill we got a nice live music performance, the staff very lovely. About the food, It’s not the quickest place ever. I wouldn’t recommend the fish tacos. It was really just a wierd sauce all over the tortillas + some fish pieces. Mussels were great. I feel I got a good night in the overall but the food is maybe not « pleasant enough » to make me come back...
We booked early on a Saturday afternoon. The Atlantic Prawns on toast were stunning. The service was good and there was a live soloist singing which created a nice ambience. The only downside was the oysters were on the small side considering the price of them. We were given 5 instead of 6. The chef ran out to get another one from the market nextdoor. I thought this was odd so early on a Saturday. But overall a nice experience.
This was my first time in the Oyster since it was renovated and it's absolutely gorgeous. The lounge downstairs is plush but laid back and the upstairs bar and dining area has a New Cork cocktail bar feel. The food was delicious and reasonably priced 18 for a large cheese/meat plate I couldn't come close to finishing and came out fast. The staff were great and very responsive, and there's also an excellent choice of drinks. You can sit at the bar in plush seats, so a nice option for dates, and the tables can handle larger groups too. There's a lift upstairs so it's accessible, although the loo doors may be tricky for some wheelchairs. We had a great night and I'll be back next time I fancy treating myself a little.
