Relaxed, American themed smoked barbeque restaurant just outside the manic chaos of the Westfield shopping Centre. The decor is fine but somehow gives the feeling that you sitting in a chain restaurant. Maybe that is the intention. Anyway the food is fine if not fantastic. I had the burnt end bites as a starter and ribs as a main. The beef was good. Some bits were a bit dry but overall thumbs up. The ribs were great, just the right blend of tenderness and bite, but maybe lacking enough sauce. The fries were on point, crispy and piping hot. For me a let down was the beer choice. Budweiser and Bud light? Seriously? If they put a bit more effort into sourcing some decent American beers then this place would be great.
This place is just okay. I would most likely not return unless forced to. Food is tasty and we all found it acceptable to eat. It does come out quicker than expected. Probably all prepackaged and just warmed up? However everyone enjoyed their meals. There were only 2 people serving ... a girl that has no life in her and doesn’t answer when spoken to - she probably doesn’t enjoy being here or chooses who to be attentive to. The other was a guy who was fine and attended to us on time with no hassle. The guy was okay - doesn’t smile but is always around to help and do his work. There is not much service here. Draught was unavailable as the machine was not working and the manager wasn’t around to deal with it so nobody could be served any draught. Bottles were however offered as an alternative.
Service was slow, the food was OK, nothing amazing, most of the meat was overcooked and dry. However the portions are large. Overheard the next table comment on the 'saddest brisket they'd ever seen'. Probably won't visit again.
Food wasn't half bad. But the service is abysmal. Ordered 2 starters and when the mains arrived I was informed that one of the starters was no longer available. I said, fine, at least bring the other one. 20 minutes later I asked again only to be informed that the "manager" who had taken my order had forgotten to order it... Ambience is also pretty poor as can be seen from the pics. Not recommended at all and I won't be going back - lots of much nicer places near by.
Smokehouse kinda night... The Butchers Board order was almost mandatory to try everything..... And everything was very good! Shoutout to the BBQ Chicken that was supremely tender and delicious and the Tater Tots divine... Don't miss those two items!!
Nice and welcoming, relaxed casual dining environment. The problem started when I recieved my "12 hour BBQ Brisket with pepper berry rub" The BBQ Brisket was bland and had a rubbery texture making it a challenge to cut and chew I would expect it fall apart in my hands after 12 hours of cooking. Brisket is usually an instant go to for me because it's usually tender and flavourful, I was looking forward to this one especially, given the title. I called for assistance, a lady said she'll get the manager, the person that came over was the same friendly man that greeted us only this time he had a bad attitude as if I had personally insulted him. I said the brisket wasn't what I expected, he challenged me so I explained why I was unhappy with what I had recieved, he said he will need to check with the manager as it's 50/50 I thought he was the manager. He came back, friendly again, and asked what I would like as an alternative. He also noted that usually they don't switch meals because, "we know our food is good, but we've had another complaint about the brisket so something must be wrong today." I guess it was my lucky day I ordered a burger, which came with fries, I said I only need the burger as I was happy with the fries I had. He said he'll take the whole plate and get me a new meal. 30 mins later, still no food so I cancelled as we had another appointment to attend. I'm not sure why it took 30 mins to make a simple burger and fries considering there were a lot of empty seats in the restaurant. I finally met the manager who came over to give an insincere apology. The same man that handled the situation then came over with the bill and also apologised with a chuckle and said it's quite embarrassing, I'm not convinced it was a chuckle of embarrassment to be honest. Good customer service from start to finish is key in hospitality, all they had to do was replace my meal as soon as possible, it seems they've forgotten the customer is always right. This could easily have been a good review, instead they've ended up with two wasted meals, which cost them to make, no payment and a bad review.
We had the brisket and beef ribs, they were delicious! Deep smoky flavour, succulent tender meat. The Mac and cheese arancini was unfortunately rather bland. The staff were very attentive and accommodating, but the place was very quiet, on a Saturday night. I hope they last as I hope to return.
Just had a great tasting Angus Beef & Bacon Burger along with a side of Mac n Cheese. This place is pretty laid back with friendly staff. Not too busy until it gets into early evening 8ish? and adequate room between tables.
Ordered the pork ribs and wings combo. Platter arrived without the corn on the cob. The ribs were burnt at some parts, then mostly tough and chewy bordering undercooked. The wings was quite burnt as well. Didn’t enjoy the meal.
Food quality is decent. Service was pitiful, our server was short and rude with us from the very beginning and never came back to the table after taking our order, even though we were missing part of our food. Luckily, one of his coworkers covered his back and helped us three separate times. She filled our waters, brought us a takeaway container, and made sure we had our complete order delivered. As a server in a smokehouse BBQ chain in the States, I understand that servers can get overwhelmed with too many tables, but our server was just plain rude. I mean, they impose a 12.5% service fee on every check so they don’t feel the necessity to provide exceptional service because they will make their money either way. $117 for a disappointing evening. By the way, their idea of nachos are tortilla chips with a sprinkle of cheese and a bit of pulled pork for at least somewhat flavor. Overall, London has many restaurants that are worth the money for a good dinner; this is not one of them. Don’t recommend. Spend your money somewhere that will appreciate it.
