We had a great short stay here with our grandchildren…the check in and out was simple easy and friendly we was located further out the site as we had our dog but this suited us fine cos it was quiet….our 3 bed super saver van was very saver sadly it needed some TLC …some mild round the windows a leak when it rained and a really nasty smell in the kitchen but it done the job on our return visit we will be booking a more superior van …. The amenities we good and all very clean the staff could not have been any nicer or helpful in all areas of jobs … the kids entertainment was amazing for all ages …. We all really enjoyed ourselves and point clear is just beautiful…we did though receive some hostile behaviour from a caravan opposite us towards myself and my 2 year old grandson about not letting him walk or play in the grass area next to there van which was not in there pitch it was between the vans before we even stepped on to it !!! But cannot clearly stress this was from a owner not a guest and is if no reflection on haven or the site and was just a rule this person had made themselves…like I said we have already planned our next year stay the day we got home … could not recommend more for family’s and dog lovers … thank you to all the staff x
Lovely place. Caravans got better. Little way out of town but nice if you've got little kids. Good entertainment. Things like bike hire etc is a bit hit n miss whether they open with no explanation. Burger King claims to be open til 2000. 1945 no dice. They effectively closed early and cleaned everything down so you couldn't order anything.
Great Weekend away, clean, well managed Haven Park. Kids can play outside at ease without having to worry. Heating system and water hot all was good. Managed to see fireworks display at the Park too. Swimming area was well managed too and overall Friendly Staff at all places.
Arrival time for me could have been earlier as I was given 4-5 slot. But getting to the caravan was easy enough. Got to accommodation and it was a surprise. As a first timer for a caravan holiday, I was surprised how large it actually was. I went with a saver. Got in, there's 3 bedrooms- so could easily sleep 6 people. It was nice and clean. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it comes with all cutlery and crockery, there's a solid place to park the car, the neighbours are nice enough. So far I've been to club house, arcade, club/pub and the evening entertainment was a band who were good. Going to head into clacton today, and here for one more day after that so may end up adding to this review. For this mobile home at the price I paid, I absolutely think its worth the money. Came to chill for the weekend, and so far I'm chilled. Oh, little bonus was waking up and there being ducks outside on the grass. Great if you like ducks. Not too great if you dont.
Booked for this week and all I can say is thank god for Clacton Pier. I have been coming here for years and nothing has changed apart from they charge you for absolutely everything! Everything has to be booked via an app and had hardly anything available. Entertainment hall is too small for the amount of caravans on site, we arrived at 18:00 and nowhere to sit. Could only book swimming for 2/5 days they say it’s free but had to pay extra £140 for passes for one adult and three children. Caravans are small for what they advertise as suitable for 8 people, you would need to eat at separate times judging by the size of the table. We won’t be coming back.
This site is well away from the hustle, bustle, of everyday life, but has a lot to offer. We used it as a touring base for 4 nights, and it suited us ideally. The caravan was good quality, and so were the entertainments etc.
Booked a pet friendly caravan.. unreal amount of pet hair everywhere and found dog snacks behind the sofa. Whilst we don't own pets we would still expect the caravan to be cleaned... The staff took about 3hrs to sort a cleaner who did a good job but put a downer or our break
Lovely caravan but there's a lot of dust in the bedroom. We didn't get any communication from either Haven or Hoseasons prior to arriving so we couldn't confirm our arrival time or place on the park & certain rules about the fishing we did not know. The Mash & Barrel is no longer a cheap option for meals or drinks £31 for Hunters Chicken & 2 drinks. It would have been cheaper to have fish & chips & they where bad enough £10 each.
On the whole our holiday was good. The caravan kitchen was not a good layout. We went to Mash and Barrell restaurant for dinner a few nights only to be told you haven't got alot of the menu. All week there was no kid's pizza. How basic is that. I felt really sorry for the waiting staff who were all amazing.
This was my first family holiday in years and there were a few of us, among the group, who had never been to a caravan holiday; so I had some convincing to do. I'm happy to say that the Orchards impressed my family so much that they want to return next year! If I were to complain I would say not having WiFi on the site became a bit of an issue. Especially, when my mobile data also struggled. To get some signal we had to go to the entertainment area to receive and make calls. That was a bit of bummer at times. The local beach was unimpressive but a 10-15 minute drive will take you to Palace beach a gorgeous well maintained beach. I had the bronze caravan, and I was impressed by the equipment and the cleanliness of the property. Loved the mini mart, really enjoyed the outdoor pool, the arcade is good, the kids loved the park and the entertainment evening was entertaining. For my black and brown humans, this was the most diverse site I have ever been to, but make sure you bring seasoning because the local asads don't have world food aisle. This is a strong 4 star, we really enjoyed ourselves, it would have been a five had the WiFi/signal issue not frustrated me so much. I'll be returning and I would recommend if you are interested.
