Beautiful period building. Great for that country pub vibe when you want to escape the city life for a pint. Usualy a great range of beers on tap including lots of American craft and local London craft. 
Food is delicious although slightly overpriced in my opinion but for the setting and the quality beer it's worth it overall! 
Lots of nooks to sit in along with a fairly large dining room and a great little beer garden with some outdoor heating. 
Definitely recommend this place for a nice quiet one with friends or family.

Such a great pub. Foods good. Staff friends. 

Shame that they look under staffed as the staff and always looking like they’re under pressure by the way they move around and speak. 

Also. Toilets are horrid. Soaking wet. And no toilet roll in ANY of the toilets. Shame

Hit and miss. Could be great, but isn't. Pub looks very nice but general cleanliness needs to be improved. Uncleared tables with dirty plates lying around for ages, kitchen also needs a spring clean.

I came on Mother’s day had the most delicious roast, lovely drink and wonderful staff. I have returned to the most disappointing roast, the slowest service and horrible drink. I was so looking forward to eating here again. I can safely say this has been the most disappointing return ever.

I went today for an early dinner & ordered the sausage & mash with a side of tender stem broccoli.

I was pleased with the portion size when my food arrived, but quickly noticed that the sausages had been burnt. The chef clearly attempted to conceal this by cutting the offending bits off. There was also part of a skewer left in the other. The tender stem broccoli again was a good size but was so over cooked that it turned to mush as soon as I put my fork in it. This, combined with sloppy mash potato gave me reason to say something to one of the bar staff. I pointed out that I was hungry so I’d eat it, but maybe the chef should be aware when serving other customers. 

I was offered a complimentary drink or dessert and chose a drink, I wasn’t looking for any compensation of any kind so appreciated the offer. When I explained again to the bar tender that I knew it wasn’t their fault, I was treated with such a bad attitude and was told ‘well, you got your drink didn’t you?!’ - as if that was my intention all along! 

Sorry to say that it’s because of this that I’m writing the review. 

The White Lion has great potential, good space, decent selection of drinks, it’s just a shame it was let down by a few simple things.
