This is one of the best restaurants I have been in Dublin and definitely a neighborhood gem. They have a Michelin star and let me tell you.. they deserve it. I had an issue with the burger and complained and they listened and served me one of the best burgers in town. I also recommend the cheese board. The oysters are one of the beet in town and the drinks are just unbelievable. They have a great selection of wines and the service is phenomenal. I come here for drinks and food all the time. And they also are a dog friendly restaurant.
Outstanding service, meal, and atmosphere. I had the carrot soup with cream, and the spicy mussels. My husband had the burger and skinny fries. All were excellent. They have a nice dining area, and a casual pub area. We arrived disheveled and locked out of our lodgings and the staff got us sorted out all while handling their service efficiently. I hope we are back in the area again.
This was probably the most "Irish" experience I had for an eatery, though I'll be honest and say I don't really know how Irish it was - all I can say is that I really enjoyed it. The staff were really friendly, giving us advice about things to do, where to go and not go. They were able to advise us about the food too. The pub is located around a touristy area but prices were pretty reasonable. Really liked how it was decorated and it was quite roomy. There was an upstairs room for private hire too it seems. We had Guinness sourdough bread, Irish coffee whiskey, the old spot prawn pil pil, and the steak main. It was all really lovely, steak was cooked to perfection and as were the fries. Definitely glad to have had the experience!
They are amazing and very inclusive. I have a halal dietary requirement. They specially arranged halal chicken on request and they were well aware of halal dietary requirements which most restaurants are not. Food and staff both are really good.
Went here for dinner around Christmas and it was spot on. Real comfort food and better than most gastro pubs. A good size as well so seems ideal for larger bookings. Unreal! Recommended dishesArtisanal Cheese Selection, Mac, Roast
Food and drinks are really good, not totally happy with costs, I believe to much expensive considering also high-quality alternatives. 4 stars anyway since food is really great
The food was the best I have EVER had in a pub and my husband also loved it. The fried truffle Mac n cheese was heaven as were the mussels. Also the staff were so friendly and kind and even gave us recommendations for our trip around Ireland. They were kind, warm and looked after us so well. Would definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
My 2nd visit here. Top class, as before. Beautiful food, original recipes. Brilliant helpful and engaging staff. When I arrived I found out that two of my group were celebrating birthdays. I told the restaurant and they rose to the occasion at very little notice. Brilliant. Thoroughly recommend the Old Spot. 25 meals and everyone of our group said the food was sublime.
A delicious way to treat yourself on a Sunday afternoon Book well in advance as desirable time-slots are in high demand The Sunday Roast is up there with the best in Dublin Staff extremely friendly, knowledgeable and polite Priced towards the higher end for a lunch - but worth it see picture
Had a wonderful meal here with my husband a few weeks ago, it was a busy period coming up to Christmas but the food and services was wonderful! The staff couldn't do enough for us which was appreciated as they were very busy. The cocktails were divine also! I would highly reccomend the old spot, we will definitely be back!
