This hotel has so much potential to be good. The location is very picturesque, the building from the outside looks grand. However inside it seems unkept and unclean.nMy room although having a great view was very bland, old fashioned and not particularly clean.nThe whole inside of the building needs to be refurbished in my option.nI will say the staff are were very friendly and helpful. I was certainly not impressed with the breakfast. £140 per night to revive this breakfast is not good at all
Such lovely staff, who went above and beyond. Stayed here last weekend and left my pyjamas behind and the kind lady at the front desk I think she was called Ann posted them to me, what a legend! The venue and location is also beautiful, and so many nice walks nearby. Great value for money, would really recommend.
Stayed here on a business trip about a month ago, thought the staff were adequate at best.nnFood was average, although breakfast room was pleasant.nnThe room I stayed in was dirty with some orange type stains on the bed sheets and crumbs at the bottom of the bed. My window wouldn’t shut properly and was letting in a draft. Found a tissue on the floor beside the bedside cabinet. Bathroom floor was sticky to.nnLocation wise was lovely, very nice gardens round the back and a very traditional feel to the hotel. Lovely little town next the hotel.
Booked this hotel in advance. Turned up today to a notice on the front door saying it’s closed! No email notification or anywhere. Now left to find accommodation at the last minute. Think it was a lucky escape however
The hotel is located a couple of miles outside Crickhowel perfect for walking the Beacons Way footpath - a nice looking old building, with plenty of parking on site, & nice views of the hillside. The reception & bar are cosy - the rooms themselves basic & 'tired'. But the staff were friendly & efficient - & the food was outstanding - really tasty including veggie options & excellent value for money. Overall a solid 7.5/10.
