Nice garden for summer drinks. Staff were great. It can get very busy, though. Food served outside arrives in a box, and the standard of that was okay. However, our portion size was small so we felt it was a bit pricey compared to other eateries in the area.
Lovely Sunday lunch first time here & very impressed will definitely be back. Food was fresh piping hot & no hard veg like in so many places! Roast potatoes crunchy & plenty of flavoursome gravy. I dropped a star as I had to go to the bar to ask for apple sauce & horseradish as we weren't asked if we wanted anything else but minor thing.
Fantastic stay at the Dragon Inn April 2025nThe room was in the separate cottage/annex behind the main building, room 17. It was well proportioned and had everything you would expect, bed was comfy the bathroom was a good size with a big bath. We had a lovely breakfast for each of the four mornings and ate dinner there twice, on each occasion the food was suburb.nWould come here again in a heartbeat.
I had a truly delightful evening at The Dragon in Crickhowell! We were able to book a table for dinner during the day and from the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for the night. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and ready with great recommendations. The food? Absolutely fantastic! Each dish was deliciously prepared, and the flavors were spot on I had the chicken supreme and my friend had the venison which he loved!. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or something a little lighter, there's something for everyone.nnWhat really stood out, though, was the overall vibe—there’s a certain charm to this place that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and quality, making it ideal for a relaxed evening out. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Dragon is a gem in Crickhowell that’s definitely worth a visit. Can't wait to return if I have the opportunity!
My partner and I stopped to have food here after a walk around the area and we were blown away by the quality of food for the price! Expecting some standard pub grub the dishes we choose turned out to be really high quality, all with their small twists. We highly recommend stopping here for their sausage and mash with the tastiest carrot we ever had! The dragon burger was absolutley stunning, everything you want from a burger and the Scotch egg although we originally thought was a tad pricey was worth every penny! Please have food here it truly is value for money and the service was the most politest we have experienced in while! Highly recommend!
