Amazing pub Hidden away down a back street but great for the kids and adults to relax whilst the kids tire themselves out. Highly recommended
If you're looking for a hidden gem to satisfy your appetite, look no further than the Old Crown Inn in Shardlow. This charming pub may be off the beaten track, but it's well worth the journey. Its old-world character and exceptional food make it a standout among other establishments. One of the things that sets the Old Crown Inn apart is the generous portion sizes. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much food you get for the price - which is very reasonable. And speaking of prices, they're quite low compared to other places in the area. But it's not just the food that makes this pub special. The atmosphere is always lively, thanks to the presence of a few local characters who frequent the place. It's also dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the ride. The Old Crown Inn is set in beautiful surroundings, making it an ideal stop-off point for ramblers or dog walkers. There's car parking available both at the front and rear of the pub, so you won't have to worry about finding a spot.
Started well. Friendly welcome. Great choice of beers. Our starters were pretty good but sadly our mains were terrible. Soggy pie, chilli tasted like it was tinned and the chips were the worst we have ever had. Cold, hard, under cooked, full of nasty tasting oil. All a bit of a shame as the environment is great and the service was great. Maybe we were just unlucky
Great old English country pub. Cosy, warm, nice atmosphere. Welcoming, friendly staff. The beef baguette is to die for and whats more, sensibly priced.
Proper old pub with loads of character. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Huge collection of jugs hanging from the beams. Large garden and playground, and they keep ducks and chickens.
Great little pub, nice food, nice selection of ciders, friendly staff and nice garden. Has a nice play area for the sproggles. Nice surroundings too.
Great food and surrounding sat in the beer gardens
Excellent pub,Good Food and very friendly barstaff, definitely a must,
An amazingly friendly place, hidden away in this village, but a perfect stop if you are driving across the country. Cosy, with unique decor, a pub cat, plus great food very reasonably priced. There is a huge car park to the rear which could really be better signposted as the road to the pub is very narrow.
Great little pub tucked away behind Cavendish Bridge. Small and cosy interior with local interesting articles on walls etc. Good selection of ales, lagers and ciders. Fabulous large garden and outside seating areas. Oh yes- and chickens, lots of chickens !! Huge poultry enclosure with dozens of chickens and a few ducks! to watch going about their business...we loved it !!
