I visited solo and sat in the beer garden, which is really nice. Ordered 2 dishes off the street menu… shredded lamb shoulder loaded fries and HFC house fried chicken bao buns. Both absolutely delicious and a reasonable price. Service was excellent. Dog friendly. Plenty of free parking at the back.
We've just had a class act lunch here, two courses, each plate has been Michelin star quality. Perfect quantity and taste. Well done to the chef that we had the pleasure of thanking as we finished. Server was delightful with beautiful demeanour. Highly recommended. It made our week. Thank you all.
Brilliant food but service a little slow. Worth the wait though. I had a burger without the bun and my daughter had lamb schwarrama. Exceptional Especially the homemade coleslaw. Dietary restrictions: I didn't want the burger bun and was easily accommodated.
We were staying in the area on holiday - but this pub was quite a way from our air/b&b but after reading the reviews it seemed a good choice for us with our dogs. It Did Not Disappoint- amazing warm welcome , lovely drinks selection, food -the best we’ve had for a while. Tender beautifully cooked chicken All the staff were super friendly especially the landlady/ owner? Our dogs were welcomed with water and treats Thoroughly recommended to anyone travelling in Derbyshire! Amazing
Sunday lunch for three today was excellent. Fresh home cooked food. We all had roasts- I had pork, husband the three meats and his step-mum the Derbyshire beef but a smaller portion please- “no problem “. For desert I had the Earl Grey Pannacotta with poached pear and sprinkled with meringue- it was excellent! Light and fresh and different. Strawberry ice cream and sticky toffee pudding went down very well with the others. Service was just right and neither too quick nor too slow. We were in the room at the back which had a nice atmosphere. The place was busy but well managed.
Food is absolutely wonderful. I had a Sunday roast and it was if not the best roast I’ve had, you get a big plate of food for a really great price, my mum and dad thoroughly enjoyed it. I returned for dinner on a Friday night 2 times after that - once having the fillet steak and once having the lamb and both were once again - absolutely unreal! Returning again very soon. Great friendly service and beautiful beer garden also!
Lovely beer garden. Allows dogs inside and out too which is great. Good selection of beers and the Sunday roast is amazing! Good prices too. Lovely staff.Food: 5/5
Great service and quality from start to finish. We went for Friday dinner but had to leave before food was plated because our son was injured- however the team couldn’t have been more helpful. They suggested they serve our food to go- and boxed it up without issue. Super friendly and helpful despite the chaos we caused. Food was delicious too- Pie of the day, fish and chips and burger stack. Child’s scampi also went down very well with our son! Thanks again- will definitely be back.
Stumbled across this pub on a day out and enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast in the sunshine. Superb roast beef with excellent vegetables. The best quality Sunday meal I've had in years.Food: 5/5
