Awesome decor and good food. It's a beautiful pub with a lot of flair and character. Kid friendly and even if busy the staff were ultra nice and accommodating. They have two bathrooms with changing facilities for babies which means, no matter how busy, there's no wait.
We chose the old brewery to celebrate our wedding back in May. It was the first place we thought of and after visiting a few venues in the area we knew this was definitely the place to use. Tommy, Dawson and all the team really go the extra mile and were so accommodating and helpful. There’s a great friendly vibe amongst all the staff. All of the food was amazing and our guests all agreed, it was especially great how simple amending meals for gluten or dairy issues was. Lovely pub garden and indoors is also nice. Great atmosphere on a summers day outdoors and it also has heaters for when it gets cold. Staff are brilliant and the service is very good ! Food is ok but all dishes were very salty which was a bit strange. My fish and chips was over salted and unpleasant to eat as was the chicken in my wife’s chicken salad.
Great place for lunch, and they were very accommodating of a dog and a baby in a pushchair. The sea trout was very delicious, and tenderstem broccoli was fresh and nicely cooked. The fish and chips battered fish comes with the skin on under the batter which is a horrible practice, and the pear and blackberry crumble was not good - unfortunately the kitchen had run out of vanilla ice cream which the pudding desperately needed… it seemed to be an overly healthy attempt on a usually delicious pudding - a dark berry compote with a very thin scattering of toasted almond flakes on top. I can’t recommend it. It’s a beautiful location, excellent decor and all the staff very friendly and efficient, and the food overall is very good. This is my second time visiting, and despite a couple of things I didn’t enjoy mentioned above, I would happily return again.
It was a beautiful day, so we stopped here after cycling for a short break and coffee. The surrounding area is peaceful. A lot of outdoor seating and no step access - good wheelchairs and buggy’s. If you sitting on the outer section, you have river views too. WCs are clean and spacious. Table service possible via the QR code on the table. We didn’t eat but the food that came out to other tables looked lovely. Will be back to eat and revisit. Close enough to the hassle and bustle of the main thoroughfare.
Popular pub which is rammed during summer time. Great for kids as it’s spacious inside and outside. Kids menu is good and scotch eggs are highly recommended! Would suggest booking ahead of time as it’s unlikely you’ll get a spot via walk-in over the weekend.
Exemplary as always. Great experience as soon as you come through the door. Greeted and served by the loveliest Kiley. Recommended the Sunday Duck roast and most definitely TOP TIER. Cosy bar area - you can sit here and chill with friends.
My absolute favourite place for a Sunday roast during the nice season. I love coming down for a bev after work any day, but their Sunday roast is the most generous offering in Greenwich.
We were lucky enough to hold our wedding reception of ~75 people at the Old Brewery. Right from our initial inquiry to the day itself, the staff at the Old Brewery simply couldn’t have been better - particular shout outs to Dawson, Tommy, Sara and Evelyn who were absolutely fantastic and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. They helped with the organisation, liaised with other suppliers florist, baker etc, set up the stunning dining hall and made sure that everything went right on the day. As a result, we as well as all of our guests just had the best time. So for any other couples looking for a reception venue, we can’t recommend enough the Old Brewery. It’s a beautiful space, excellent food/drinks and totally great staff! And if you’re not looking for a wedding reception - go to the Old Brewery anyway! We had lots of friends/family pop in before and after the big day and so were just regular guest. We lost count of the number of people who went out of their way to comment on just how friendly and helpful the Old Brewery team are. So thoroughly recommend this as a great spot to enjoy some food/drink - make sure you take advantage of it!
Food was dreadful, first time visiting there and I’ll never be back. Ordered the roast beef and it was watery and bland, the ox cheek was grey and looked like it had been microwaved, potatoes were anaemic. Genuinely made my stomach turn. I sent it back the first time as the gravy was gelatinous and had obviously been under the lights for a long time and then it came back watery instead. No one asked us how our food was, ignored us and didn’t clear our plates for 45 minutes, we weren’t asked if we wanted any more drinks or dessert etc. Had to flag someone down to get the bill, saw my half eaten plate and didn’t ask if it enjoyed the food. It’s common sense guys! Outrageous as it was £19 for the roast dinner.
