A brilliant gem of a café. With a concise but well carried out menu and plenty of cake! The staff are very friendly and relaxed which makes the whole experience that much nicer. The Bakewell is the best around!
Absolutely divine Sunday roast at the Octagon cafe. Choice of 3 meats, lots of veg, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, yorkshire…too much to eat! Excuse the lack of gravy in photo, that was my choice as I have never liked gravy!! Thank you, I will be back!
We visited the Octagon for a change of scenery and were pleasantly surprised. My sister chose a sandwich and it looked incredible. Mum had a teacake with butter and marmalade while my son and I chose cheesy chips. Lots of gorgeous cakes to choose from. Friendly atmosphere and a good range of food to choose from at reasonable prices. Parking: We have a disability disc but parking is free with around 30 available spaces. The carpark is opposite Spar in Poundbury with a very short walk to the cafe.
Very good cafe serving the usual coffees, teas etc, also a variety of homemade cakes. Good range of choices for lunch - all we've tried have been delicious! Outside seating too. Very friendly staff. Pay them a visit - you won't be disappointed!

I just want to thank these wonderful ladies for all the work they put in to make us afternoon teas for our wedding. They really listened to what we wanted and catered for all dietary needs. They were always on hand to answer any questions, even through the lockdown. The food was scrumptious and went down a storm with our guests. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you so much

Visited today and really pleased to have found such a lovely cafe with lovely owners. Wonderful food and drinks, nice setting and great service and price. All round a great place to visit. We will be back. Thank you for a lovely lunch x
Just had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Octagon. Exceeded expectations and great value. No licence but you can take your own alcohol if you wish for a small corkage charge. Will definitely visit again.
No one visiting this venue will be disappointed be it for coffee and in house produced cake or a full meal. Sunday lunch is perfect . Kid-friendliness: Small area for kids to use some toys that are in situ. Parking: Free public parking.
