Visited yesterday for the first time. Set in a quiet suburb of South Birmingham. The premises has a large open car park with spaces for E V and Disabled users. The reception area was secure and spacious. I was greeted by two members of the reception staff who were friendly and only too willing to assist me with my equipment. Further assistance was provided once inside the premises. The reception area extended into a comfortable seating and Bistro area. I was accompanied to a first floor Lounge which was furnished tastefully with high quality furniture and fittings. There were several members of staff present during my stay, each fully engaging with the many residents in attendance. The premises were spotlessly clean. Individual rooms were large, airy and comfortable equipped to meet individual needs. I had a lovely afternoon and look forward to making a return visit. Highly Recommended.
Disgusting 'carehome'. A family member has alzheimer's, the way she has been treated by staff, and almost killed by another resident is why i have left this review. PLEASE do not take your loved ones here as they will not be looked after. Bruises will magically appear, other residents will be allowed to roam in everyones rooms. Personal belongings go missing, stuff moved about whilst the carers are doing god knows what. The reason why my family member was attacked is because the carers aren't watching where the residents go. You'd think in the safety of your own room you wouldn't have random people come in but no, aggressive loud violent residents are allowed wherever they please. Not safe for anyone and the lack of remorse from staff is very concerning
My godmother moved in just 3 days ago. Every member of staff that I have encountered thus far, has been welcoming, caring, good natured and cannot do enough to help.nnIn hospital, my godmother was confined to bed and lost the ability to walk. With the help of two carers, she managed to walk the few steps to her ensuite bathroom soon after arrival and in just 24 hours, she was out of bed, dressed and sitting up!nnEvery member of staff that passes by her room gives her the time of day and may even stop for a chat.nnThe staff also talk to the relatives to get a clear picture of the person they are caring for, always ready to advise and to listen to any concerns.nnThere are activities every day , which all residents are encouraged to attend and family are welcome too!nnA big thank you to The Oaks for making the transition an absolute pleasure.nnIn my opinion, there is nowhere better to send your loved ones when you are unable to care for them yourself.
We took a couple of donkeys to visit the residents of The Oaks yesterday and received a very warm welcome from staff who clearly knew the residents as individuals and were keen to add enrichment to their days. Staff spoke with residents using their names and referring to their backgrounds and interests. The building was spacious and clean with communal areas and individual personalised spaces and residents were a pleasure to meet and talk to. Thank you for welcoming us to your lovely care home and we look forward to returning again soon.
Visited today and wow what a beautiful home. Warm caring staff , beautiful clean modern but homely decor and such a calm welcoming atmosphere. Ideal place for my mum.
