Best samosas in the town so far I've experienced in B'ham. I always give them 10 minutes to fry fresh samosas and they comes out very fresh crispy and mouth watering. Staff is nice aswell
Ah good old Mushtaqs. To my knowledge one of the first places to serve food in Alum Rock. I still remember the original Mushtaqs that was located across the road where Sajid Shahi is now. Used to buy katlamas and roast chicken legs from there.nThe shop still looks like it is stuck in the 90s so I always feel nostalgic going in there. Looks a bit grimy to be honest. Most of the food they offer is fried and the chicken legs are long gone. The katlama has gone downhill and tasted mostly of masala with not enough meat in it. The sweets are pretty standard and other places in Alum rock are comparable.nHowever the stars of the show are the sheesh kebabs. They are utterly delicious but I guess this is because they use ghee in them. The brown bag they came in was soaked in grease. In the picture below you can see some of the grease too. But then we’re not talking about rabbit food here but a culinary delight to tickle the taste buds. My new go to place for sheesh kebabs.n5 out of 5 stars for the kebabs. 3 stars given as overall rating as everything else I’ve tried in there is bog standard.
I really enjoyed samosas, cooked fresh and full of flavour. Honestly the best I had in a long time. Place is nice and clean and service is very friendly. We got to try some other specialities like pakora and chicken so good. Price is great as well.
You can complain about vegetables samosa freshy made desi sweet are good love them very busy places on alum rock flavoured with desi council estates aunty in the local area shop may look a bit run down but never judge a book by its cover the food good for working class British Muslim people to eat young brother service behind the counter very helpful
Ordered thw sheesh kebab in a hot dog bun and some jalebi, was nice to have it in something other than a wrap and the sheesh was lovely the jalebi was nice fresh sticky like nana used to make. My friend also got the burger that nice he had two
