I'm an infrequent customer to this business, but generally have been very satisfied with their specialist stock and helpful service. No so much today though. Went in for a few nuts which only came to 45p. Discovered I only had a £20 note or a card to pay. Was told that they apply a minimum purchase of £1.50 for card payments not illegal - but definitely against the rules of the card companies. So handed over the £20 but a second later found a £1 coin in the bottom of a pocket. Obviously the staff member wanted my £20 note which was still in his hand. Too late he said and proceeded to load me up with change. Why it was too late when my note hadn't even gone into the open till - only he would know. He wasn't able to look me in the eye and give any explanation. I'm sure they're not going to be missing my trade. But very disappointing to receive this kind of service from a shop that I really quite liked....
Been here a few years ago with an old tutor to pickup bits for a project... well yesterday I needed some nuts for my shocks on my discovery offroader.... and they sprung to mind! Went in today amazing customer service lovely plate and so helpful and definitely will keep them in mind and recommend to anyone in need of hardware.

I needed an extra strong bolt and nut to attach a trailer to my bicycle. Staff sorted it out in a jiffy for the princely sum of £1... Cheaper than chips! Highly recommended. Thank you!

Tony and Dave could not be more helpful. I always feel like my few bolts or screws are really small fry but they are still amazingly helpful no matter how big or small your project is. Their knowledge is always top notch. They have got me out of more than a few issues with DIY projects. Also so great you can buy 1 bolt if that's all you need. And the prices are very reasonable. Cannot recommend enough.
Just when I thought It was time to give up trying find the bolts I needed for my 1/5 scale control car they had exactly what I was looking for. Amazing service thank you
Brilliant service, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Had exactly what I needed even measuring up to confirm its correct, good prices and I even found a parking space just round the corner - all in all an excellent trip to a great company that always saves the day!
This is not an artisan bakery. Its genuinely useful shop that provides an actual service. No minimum on card either which is also a bonus.
Awesome. Called in for some BSW nuts 'n' bolts to mod an ancient table saw today and walked away with the correct nuts and bolts instead and also 1.5m of steel angle profile. Very helpful and equally as friendly. Thank you.
