Had 1 overnight stay to celebrate an anniversary. Booked into the Lulu Guinness room and wasn't disappointed! Beautiful stylish decor creating a calm feel. Ultra comfy bed and quality linen. Had evening meal in the restaurant, the service we received was friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Again breakfast was very good with superb service. The pub has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend anyone to visit who appreciate little extra touches.
Lovely ambience and decor, plus exceptional service. The waitress gave my partner a free drink as it was his birthday and then added a candle and message to his dessert without us asking. It was so appreciated. The meat dishes were good and my veggie starter was fantastic, but the veggie main was bland and overlooked compared to the other dishes. Overall though, we had a lovely evening.
I had the privilege of staying at the Guinness Arms on a business trip. I was warmly greeted, booked in with minimal fuss and shown to my room. I was in the Alec room which had memorabilia from Alec Guinness throughout including film posters, photographs and a stamp. I loved the decor and furnishings of the room, which I found to be immaculately clean. It is small but perfect for my needs. I ate in the restaurant for the evening meal and breakfast. The food was flavoursome, well cooked and utilised local ingredients. A great stop over that I will be requesting again when I’m in the area.
Popped in here last night & what a wonderful experience. Greeted at the door by friendly staff & welcomed into a warm cosy restaurant. Staff were very attentive, knowledgeable & super friendly. Gave you that warm fuzzy feeling! Then the food came out ! Wow .. super tasty & good value for money. Everything looked amazing & the staff went out of their way. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Tasty & not a second thought ! I’m not even vegetarian but sounded tasty & delicious
First visit today for lunch fish and chips chips soggy and almost cold..in restaurant area 3 dogs one snappy one that went for the waitress Shannon every time she went near the table ,one dog later sitting on its owners lap slobbing all over the table...l am a dog lover but this is not acceptable. Will not visit again till this is improved.
Great pub in an easy location to access. Lovely food, a good drinks list and fair prices. Also dog friendly!
Best burger we ever had! Lovely people, clean beautiful toilets and decor. Will be back for sure.Food: 5/5
Execellent food and atmosphere. Only improvement would be mobility of servers in relocating to talk with diners vs projecting longways across a table, otherwise great service :--I would dine here again!Food: 5/5
It's been a while since this place has opened, but we've finally managed to stop in for a meal and have been back twice since. The food and service is fantastic, and the atmosphere is great as well. I'm looking forward our next visit.Food: 5/5
