Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will.

Upon arrival it took a good minute for someone to acknowledge and seat us. No stress there. We parked opposite the premiere inn assuming that the parking is for the restaurant too. Ample parking and vacant spots if you were coming for dinner. To our surprise they had our table reserved, or didn’t but already had a table big enough ti seat the family. Ample spacious tables and walkways. Drinks ordered and one of the drinks was not what we ordered. We ordered from the roast menu, which they gave us, and what we were there for. Sunday roast. I was impressed with the different Sunday roast items on the menu. We placed our order, specifying that we prefer our meat well done. Notified that the food was made the day before and they have no power or say with. Some may be cooked medium or some well done; they’re not sure. In other words, just be happy with what you get. We accepted our fate. Moments later, another waitress, possibly an owner or manager, notifies us that the roast menu is off the table, and that we should order an alternative meal from their main menu. Burgers and chips. We settled for the double stack burgers, but dearly wanted to sample their brand of Sunday roast at whatever the cost. We arrived at 16:31 pulling in to the parking lot and had only been served our meals 17:37 …. The people next to us,a family just as big as ours arrived after us and got their food before us. It is safe to say, regardless of how nice the burgers are, just based on service alone. We will not be going back . I think the only thing I was impressed with was the fact they brought the kids crayons and pictures to draw on. And the chips the fries were perfect succulent and crispy and the burger for the price though is in my opinion not worth its weight in gold. The kids didn’t finish their burgers and the toddler spat his out. We also wanted to take our left overs and our pancakes the kids couldn’t eat. And the waiter said they don’t do “doggy bags”. I am not at all impressed with this business. And don’t recommend in a high regard.
Lovely meal, very hot and well presented. Only criticism is mashed potatoes were obviously powdered, would prefer freshly made or frozen. Apart from that wonderful meal, and cocktails were scrummyFood: 4/5
The breakfast buffet at Balmoral Beefeater in Southampton is well-regarded for its variety and value. I appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, along with the clean facilities. The buffet features classic English breakfast items, with highlights including well-cooked bacon, eggs, and a selection of pastries. Some diners have noted that certain items, like sausages, could be of better quality, but overall, the breakfast experience is positive and good for the price
Large Beefeater with a free car park directly outside. Your usual Beefeater Breakfast experience. Great range of food, well-stocked and re-stocked and at a good price. The cooked food was buffet style though as opposed to cook to order like some other Beefeaters.Food: 5/5
We arrived here on our travels home and was pleased to find they had several seats available, our drinks order was taken quickly but food ordering took much longer and we had to grab the attention of the waitress. Food was tasty and the wait wasn't too long, the place quickly filled up and unfortunately we were greeted with stress from one member of the public who made my wife feel uncomfortable.
Nice beefeater adjacent to the Premier Inn. We booked a table on the Friday night which is recommended as it was very busy Food was hot and well presented. Price no to bad. Parking: You get 3 hours free parking but register your car at the bar on arrival
We had a lovely meal here for my husbands birthday and our waitress Donna was just amazing! She interacted with our daughter which made it more special for her too and was very friendly throughout the meal despite the restaurant being very busy. Everything from drink to the food was perfect, we will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
First visit for our wedding anniversary. Seated in upstairs section which was quieter. Pub very busy with a couple of birthday parties in full swing. Our waiter was a hoot, friendly and cracking jokes. Menu is varied and value for money. Steaks were excellent, cooked as requested. Will definitely be back soon.Food: 5/5
First night was very busy, but they still found me a table despite not having booked in. Food was absolutely excellent both days second day was mid afternoon so very quiet. Best steaks I've had this year! Service was attentive and very pleasant for both visits. Would thoroughly recommend.Food: 5/5
We were welcomed and shown to our table. The first course was brought swiftly, as was the mains so we had a pudding too. All nicely presented and tasty. Our server was superb, nothing was any trouble for her and she was friendly and smiley. We really enjoyed our visit.Food: 5/5
