Went here for a meal with my partner and toddler. We ordered promptly and subsequently waited close to an hour for food at a time the pub was empty apart from one other table who were already eating. We were told they'd forgot to put our order through and that it would be a couple more minutes before our food arrived. When it arrived, I cut open the fish for my toddler to find it cold and uncooked in the middle. I was delighted I checked it before I let him take a bite. I immediately let the staff member know who just about grumbled an apology. By this point I had a miserable and starving 2 year old and I'd had enough so we left. The girl behind the bar was friendly and brought crayons over for the toddler. This was the only positive. We left without even taking a bit of food. The food served was not safe and would recommend not visiting this place. To say it is so close to Paultons Park it was absolutely dead around closing time when you would think that families would be looking for a quick bite before travelling home. I can see now why it was empty.
We just had lunch at The Mortimer's Arms, at Ower. They do a 2 course lunch for £12. I can say that the portion size is good. It is a really good deal + the food & service is very good too. Highly recommend
It was a great stay, I was down catching up with old friends with our dogs, this was the Ideal place & location. The staff where lovely and food was great. Will use again when back visiting.Rooms: 4/5
Went for lunch absolutely delicious. Two courses £12 excellent value. Not typical pub grub but freshly made, healthy, tasty food. Liver and bacon on a bed of mashed potatoes mixed with cheese and vegetables soooo good. Vegan chilli and rice very tasty too. Followed by homemade cheesecake was amazing and apple & cinnamon crumble. Very enjoyable thank you.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Staff members are rude and unapproachable. Food was disgusting, as can be seen in attached photo. Burger came out rock hard, when I sent it back the staff were rude and tried to patronise me into thinking it was fine and that is just how the burger comes, could not even apologise. When the replacement burger came out it was just as hard and tuff, could not even bite it. The customer service is shocking. Thoroughly disappointed!
We stayed at the Mortimer Arms last night and from start to finish we had a lovely time. Our evening meal was cooked beautifully, and was very tasty I had beef and ale pie, my husband had a chicken burger. There was a good choice of breakfast including cooked, toast, and cereals. Everything we ate was good quality and enough of it. The staff were all approachable, sociable and friendy. Our room was spacious, clean, and of a high quality decor. This place is conveniently located next to Paultons Park and also Paultons Golf Club.
We had a100th birthday to celebrate Everyone was very accommodating. The staff tried really hard..thanks to all of them. Food was good value and well cookedService: 5/5
Was not so good service was very slow . Took ages to take order . And was not even busy . So god knows what it's like when is busy with families coming out of Paultons/ Pepper pig world . I will not go back here. The marquis of blandings is much betterService: 3/5
Unhappy staff, unapproachable, no one at the bar when we entered, expensive, young lady that works here has attitude, not appreciated, and the way she spoke to a group of people was disgusting. Not very clean, and they ignored me when i said i would like to look through the menu so i had to get one myself. Won't be coming back.Rooms: 5/5
Would not visit for food again. Roast was ok but dessert apple and pineapple crumble was an hour late and just seemed to have no effort put in, taste like sawdust. For £8.50 I expected to at least be respected, it’s a bit of an insult particularly after being so late. Also roasts are small portions, 3 small potatoes…
