Have been here several times, when visiting family in the area, and always had a great meal. As we don't eat meat, we chose the meat free carvery as although I don't eat meat, I love all the trimmings. The serving staff are really friendly and what I love here is that the veggies are allowed several Yorkshire puds which other carveries deny us! Good choice of veg and I do pile high on the roast potatoes. Good varied menu, if you don't want a carvery and also good kids menu. It was busy when we were there but rather than queue, we ordered online and service was fast.
I had a very pleasant lunch at the Moorlands. I had four children with me - 3 have allergies and the staff were so accommodating and professional and reassuring about taking necessary measures to ensure there was no cross contamination in the kitchens. The food was good value for money, the tables were clean and the toilets were clean too. There was a nice atmosphere, good parking and a small play area for the children to enjoy. The pizzas were excellent and the children’s portion sizes were just right! The carvery looked amazing too!
Lovely cooked breakfast . Not many places do fried bread. But it was my birthday. So went here for a treat. Next visit was a quick tea for us. Everyone enjoyed their dinnersFood: 5/5
Such a shame about this place. Not in a hurry to return. From the look of the place is it very tired and needs some decorating doing to freshen it up. They were greasy marks all over the walls. Dirty pictures hung on the walls. The bar top was all sticky and the beer mats were swimming! They still have a small Christmas tree up?! The toilets were absolutely disgusting! If the cleanliness of the pub isn’t good to what we CAN see then it makes me wonder as to what it is like in the places we can’t see..
Popped in just for a meal and got taken to a table straight away. Apparently booking is recommended but wasn't a problem. Service was as you'd expect, good. We had a carvery and that was great. Too much really but I finished it off and even had a pudding as we had a 2 course deal. Our friend had a burger and said that was really good, which was a good surprise as he can be a bit fussy. Overall very pleased with our visit and we'd recommend going again. Parking: Plenty of parking on either side. You can get in from both roads and sides of the pub Wheelchair accessibility: I was in a wheelchair and there wasn't a problem.
Value for money carvery. I am veggie but told the meat is good selection of 3 Plenty of food. Pleasant staff who are friendly and helpful. Good pizza choices which are large and fab puddings. Vegetarian options: Veggie carvery available, gravy and roast potatoes are veggie.
Had a pleasant Sunday carvery for 11.99. Four meats available, chicken beef gammon and pork with as much vegetables as you like. The leeks in cheese sauce was especially nice as was the cauliflower cheese. A couple of varieties of gravy were available onion and beef. I recommend pre booking a table as there is generally a long waiting time if you just turn up.
Just been for a carvery and I was chuntering under my breath about how thin the guy cut the beef. I said i did say could i have a bit of each please but didn't mean it literally, can see through it which i could I wasn't actually talking to him talking to my friend next to me,and the guy cutting the meat said to me you should have bought a large then shouldn't you.very rude and won't be going again Parking: Plenty of parking as looks like people don't like to be short changed
A huge thank you to Lawrence, Alex and the team at The Moorland Pub! We came today with a group of adults with additional needs as part of our day service activity, they were all very welcoming and incredibly helpful. They were encouraging of everyone’s independence ordering their own meals and ensured that they took their time so the group didn’t feel rushed. Lovely to have this experience and had such understanding and supportive staff as it made the whole experience much easier. Couldn’t find one fault in the entire experience, Thank you so much!! We will see you again :
passing this place hundred hundred times every year, this was the first time visit due to everywhere were busy in peak district. arrived 1:30pm on 29th Dec friday. the three courses was £13.50 and it was value for money. the starters, crispy fried chicken and mushroom were ok. the fish and chips was not brilliant, wil not order again. the carvery was good. you can choose one or all three meats. the desserts, apple pie with custard and sticky toffee pudding with custard were good.
