The award winning Monastery is a unique venue, famous for its stunning architecture. Perfect for events from dinners to weddings. Owned by a charitable trust.
Designed by acclaimed architect EW Pugin for the Franciscan Order, the Church and Friary were the hub of the local community until the 1970s when housing clearances removed much of the congregation. Abandoned by the Friars in 1989 the buildings became derelict, prey to thieves and vandals, until a campaign was started to try and save them. The Monastery is now owned and operated by the Charitable Trust that raised over £.5m to restore the buildings and return them to their rightful place at the heart of the local and wider communities.
Inspiring the Future, Respecting the Past, Realising Potential.
Main Space venue for up to 550 guests. Private Chapel parties of up to 55 people. 10 Friary Rooms for meetings of smaller groups.
