Being going to the Mermaid since childhood and it never disappoints.  I live in the Peaks now and have tried fish n chip shops all over the UK....nothing comes close.  The fish is always crispy, no skin, flakes and tastes amazing!

Excellent fish and chips. Well organised and clear signs. Only complaint is they only provide Chinese curry sauce and not chip shop style.

Great fish n chips - crispy, chunky fish, chips well cooked and lovely peas. The chap who served me was chatty and happy. Always been good from here whether you eat in or takeaway. Wish I lived closer!

Just been to mermaid queuing to get served and the regulars get served first has I’m a driver and not be able to stop for food this was ridiculous I ended up walking out while waiting for the que  jumpers orders to get ready they could have just served in order instead of telling the regulars to come forward

Brilliant freshly cooked fish and chips, so friendly staff and highly recommend it

Well I didn't even eat there I went to go get a McDonald's but I've been there one and the food was fantastic the quality was wonderful and it's wonderful place for a fancy dinner because it's a fancy restaurant
