This was the Best chippy! I’ve been going here since I was a kid and it was always brilliant. But last 2 weeks the chips are just bland and dry. The fish is still nice but the main reason I come is for stuck to the bag fish and chips. Can you just change back to the old chips as I'm seriously considering not returning and I must have been coming here for the last 20 years.

Ask me 2 month ago I would of said the best chippy around after tonight I will not be touching this place again £40 spent and the batter didn't stick to the fish all fell apart chips undercooked mushy peas tasted 3 week old whats happened to this place really disappointed tonight unfortunately won't be ordering again.Food: 1/5
This fish and chips shop doesn't need a good review from me as the reputation precedes it as being brilliant. They have also adapted to stay open through the pandemic, by offering delivery or a socially distanced queue and 1 customer at a time in the shop, good menu and beautiful fish and chips every time.

Somewhere in the cool Icelandic waters of the Atlantic, a ship has set sail, thrashing through the churning spray. The captain of Blaengur is a steely man, with a beard as white as Captain Birdseye's. Men race around, winching up haddock. Others weild axes, hacking at the tentacles of the giant squid, which curl around the railings and the equipment, threatening to drag the ship into the icy abyss. 'More speed! We must outrun the squid! The fish must arrive fresh by morning! They must feast like kings!' he yells, barely audible over the roar of the ocean. The reply screams over the intercom from the engine room. 'I'm giving it all she's got captain!' Just as the last net of haddock is landed on board, a giant squid heaves out from the water behind the ship. Its tentacles unfurl, revealing a hellish circle of teeth, around a cavernous mouth which could grind the Blaengur whole. Just as the tentacles are whipping towards the back of the ship, it gains enough speed to slip away into the night. Meanwhile, at Ritz fisheries, they have a taste for perfection. They understand that good fish and chips takes hard work and dedication to the craft. And above all, they use quality ingredients. Every bite of their fresh haddock, is steamed to perfection inside a crispy shell of batter. As you feast, you are humbled to taste the sheer determination that has brought such quality to your fork. Every fisherman from Blaengur willing to risk it all. Every farmer who toiled on the land to bring the earthy taste of a freshly dug Sagitta potato. Its all in evidence here. From the flaky, snow white haddock of the Blaengur Special, to the crispy but soft potato of the scollup, every bite will melt in your mouth. I really don't fully know how they do it, but the team at Ritz is ideal. Service is astounding. They know your order from the moment you walk in. I'm a regular, and they always know what I want before I order it. They're friendly, they're chatty, they make you feel as welcome as a friend. Is this the best fish and chip shop in Leeds? Yes. Of course it is. Go, and don't be disappointed.
Possibly THE worst food I've ever had. Asked for sausage chips and gravy. I received a sausage so coated in batter most of it had flaked off over the chips and soaking in grease. Despite asking for gravy they gave no tray to put it in and sent it in a tub. Total waste of time going here. Will not be back
