The Merlin is the perfect place to find a cosy corner and take time out whilst enjoying some of our Chefs seasonal dishes.

Story

Our traditional pub has been stylishly refurbished to make it the perfect place to find a cosy corner and take time out whilst enjoying some of our Chefs seasonal dishes and our great selection of wines, ales and lagers.

Inside you will find roaring log fires, a unique dining room and comfy armchairs to while away the afternoon.

We visited on a Sunday night and there were only about 2 other tables occupied, but the service was quite slow although very friendly and it didn't matter too much to us as we weren't in a rush and gave us more time to catch up with friends. The ambience was nice and chilled, the music playlist was good and the decor is nice. There is plenty of parking to the rear and a nice terrace to the front which is nice in the summer. The food was great, but people were looking forward to a roast which they had run out of so was a little disappointing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I think we were the last ones in and the time ran away from us but the staff didn't have a problem and were very accommodating. All in all nice restaurant and will definitely be returning.

Warm hospitable atmosphere excellent staff. Food on a busy Christmas period weekday was OK - soup barely warm and chunky chips similar - long wait experienced but wouldn't mind that if food was hot!

Went on the 13th feb for early valentines. Worst fillet steak I've ever had, burnt on the outside, raw in the middle with no flavour, peppercorn sauce was like waterey gravy. Chunky chips were the highlight of the meal!
