Went here for my friend's birthday. It is a beautiful place with great food and good drinks. It has a quite a large wine list. The food choice is great too, took us a good 15 minutes to finally decide what we wanted. It is quality of the food was great too. Really tasty. It is quite expensive for some of the dishes here but you get what you pay for. I did see some pizzas whizzing around which looked great and weren't overly expensive. We weren't waiting ages for food even though it was busy. The major downside here was actually the service. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. We had to ask more than once for some water, and also for our bill both of which we waited quite a long time for. There was pretty much no interaction from them apart from taking our order. It just felt like they tried to do the absolute bare minimum. My friend said she's been there before and the staff were much more attentive so maybe it was just a busy shift. I'd still go back.
We enjoyed a great Birthday Lunch here. We shared a Calamari with saffron aioli as a starter which was perfectly cooked; followed by the lobster ravioli & seafood pasta both of which were very tasty with tiramisu and profiteroles for dessert which were both excellent. A Moretti beer & a glass of Montepulciano & 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio Blush. Good service throughout - we haven’t visited here for awhile - we were both impressed with all of the food.
Rating: Lasagna - 8/10 Fillet with truffle sauce 8/10 Cheesy garlic bread - 7/10 Thoughts Absolutely loved eating at this restaurant in Wilmslow. The service was great and the food was spectacular. The lasagna was full of flavour and the sauce on that steak was incredible! Reviews by @thefoodiestraveldiary
I would say for how much the food in the restaurant costs I'd expect it to be nicer. The service was great, the server was attentive, polite and always had a smile. The decor of the restaurant was truly gorgeous, I wish I had taken a picture now. We were seated at a table under a couple heaters, the one I was sat by was off, which was good, but the one at the other end of the table was on and quiet warm, despite the restaurant already being warm enough. A problem I found I had was that the menu was actually massive, so big I couldn't actually see over it to see anyone else. I also found it had far too many choices and therefore words on the menu to look through, that I actually just gave up and went onto the Christmas set menu. There was five of us eating and three of us had the Christmas set menu which costs £40 for three courses. Now I'd say mine was really nice, I had tomato and basil soup for starter, chicken and mushroom in a creamy sauce and chocolate fondant for dessert. My one criticism is that the supposed garlic croutons that came with my soup, were actually three cubes of bread that didn't taste of garlic what so ever, other than that my set menu was delicious. My sister and mum, who also had the set menu, had nice starters, pasta and pate respectively, but they both had the same main of a turkey steak, with a turkey meat ball and pigs in blankets. I tried a bit of all three of those things on their plate and we all agreed, for both of them, the items were all overcooked. The turkey steak was tough to cut and chew, which shouldn't be the case. The turkey meat ball, which was literally a ball of turkey coated in bread crumbs and deep fried, was hard on the bottom, so hard that, that bit of it couldn't be eaten and then the pigs in blankets were clearly overdone as they were black, though they did taste ok. For how much the set menu cost they were a bit sad. I also observed that the garlic bread my brother-in-law got for starters, while pretty damn big, looked quite dry. However he was very happy with it, so maybe it tasted better than it looked. We all thought our desserts were lovely though. I had the chocolate fondant, which is what I took a picture of. I'd definitely recommend that and my tomato and basil soup, as it was amazing, if you don't mind bread cubes instead of croutons Saying all that, I did give the food a 4 star rating just because I did actually really enjoy mine, had I been my sister or mum reviewing the restaurant, then maybe I would've given the food 3 stars. I don't think this is a place I'd go again, it was nice to try but the food doesn't really seem necessarily worth the price and the big menu was really a struggle for me to look through. Parking: There are a few carparks nearby but nothing directly next to the restaurant. There is no street parking as all the road has yellow lines outside.
Maybe not the best place for a quiet meal as incredibly busy with a lively atmosphere, but the food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good. The tuna I ordered was wonderful!
Went for my partners birthday, was sat on a small table in between 2 large noisy groups, chairs were not even at the table on arrival so we had to wait whilst chairs were passed above peoples heads, we did ask to move but they said it was too busy. Was bumped and knocked quite a lot during the meal and was not a romantic setting at all due to where we was seated, food was lovely but would not return.
Having made a booking some weeks earlier, we were looking forward to a good night out with friends. The customer service in this restaurant, from all staff was utterly appalling and quite frankly embarrassing. One of their staff, Marco was extremely rude, made us wait over an hour for a table that had been booked. Not a single apology but instead made us feel that we should be grateful to even be there. I say member of staff, as the arrogance and contempt that he showed for customers in this restaurant was shocking. If Marco truly was the manager and owner as he claimed several times then i fear for anyone who chooses to dine here - he showed a sense of entitlement and arrogance that was embarrassing for him and disgusting to experience. Personally we will be boycotting this restaurant, as will our friends. We live locally and have shared our experience with friends who could not believe how arrogant and self-indulged this establishment has become. A piece of advice whether Cibo Wilmslow take it or not, is that they should never take for granted the customers that they rely on. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers as we gratefully experienced instead, and with staff, or worse still, management like Marco, these guys are on a slippery downward slope. Id give them zero stars if I could. Shame on you Cibo Wilmslow!
A real Italian with a great menu - a combination of classics and less common dishes. They do a very good value lunch menu which runs late enough in the afternoon to have an early evening meal for a very competitive price. Works well if you are on your way to Rex cinema. You can’t park here so don’t try- park at Meadows or near Hoopers
We had a fantastic meal, celebrating our wedding anniversary today at Cibo in Wilmslow. What made it so special? The home made bases on the garlic bread & calzone. The well priced, yet high quality drinks. The amazing service Big mention to Mady, who went all out to make our lunch incredible. The profiteroles dessert was super cute! Mizo, presiding over the bar, is also amazing. Thanks guys!
Been here many times but will never go again. Went for birthday celebration. The manager was rude and annoying . I had a hair in my glsss of wine so asked to change to a cocktail. He rudely said cannot change to a cocktail and only wine I explained that obviousley will pay price difference. There was no apology about the hair in my glass as he rudely walked away. It just felt that he was all about money, no care or regard for the customer experience, miserable rude man. Also a day after eating here one of my party was violently sick and diarrhea we believe wss food posining either from the food or dirty glasses, cutlery or one of the staff were sick but too scared to take time off with an arrogant manager. NEVER again !
