I visited on Sunday for the roast and.. it didn’t disappoint! The beef roast was lovely, the portion generous and the gravy was banging. The starters are also very good and the staff attentiveFood: 5/5
Recently had a great experience at such a difficult time, two funerals in the space of a month. Had the wake at the Marquess Tavern & am still amazed at the compassion & service we received by the staff. Our family & friends all commented on the staff, they were kind & considerate. The food was delicious, so we had the second wake there too. Highly recommend these guys, give them a visit, they're a fab group of people & you will not be disappointed. Thank you all again as a family we are very grateful.
I had the £12 weekday lunch deal: a sandwich or light lunch plus a glass of house wine, beer or soft drink. I chose the small fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce. Everything was homemade and the fish was exceptional. I had a glass of lovely, dry white wine with it. Great service and excellent value.Food: 5/5
Me and my now wife celebrated getting our marriage license here in a group of 15 friends. The pub staff made us feel super welcome and taken care of. We were given our own space and even TV to use for entertainment. The food, according to our guests was really really great too. Overall, this is a lovely pub in a lovely neighbourhood with lovely staff! Thank you for making our day!
A style all of its own. A magnificent building, the Marquess Tavern is a superb place to visit. A great part of the Young's offering, well done to all concerned. Great beer and wonderful friendly service. A beautiful sophisticated pub. There is a simple, but well presented menu, the food looks great I did not have time to indulge. I recommend a visit.
Me and my wife went to this pub as it was the nearest to where we are staying in London for a few days. So pleased we did! Acknowledged and welcomed as soon as we walked in. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered four items from the bar snacks menu to share between us, which arrived promptly. Amazing food, absolutely delicious. Didn’t think we would manage to eat it all, but we did! All credit to the chef and staff at The Marquess Tavern for making our night very enjoyable.
Super tasty pub dinner in a great location. Althought not too close to any tube, this pub deserves a visit. The service was quick and the staff was cordial, great vibe. Desserts also very tasty, good choice of drinks. Bit pricey overall.Food: 5/5
This was a nice little, accidental find. Kind of tucked away among the leafiness of Islington, it was bigger and brighter than expected. Popped in for a pint when I wasn't ready to go home, but my friends, with a young child, were. The place has a snug hideaway, which you can hire for secret parties; a pretty good menu; and an alright choice of beers, although the hunt for a pub that does a range of good ciders, not high sugar, fruity nonsense, continues. Staff were friendly, even during a mini card machine failure crisis. Its got 'nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon' vibes. I reckon you could take a board game there, and fit right in. They might have their own. Vegetarian options: It's Islington. Obviously there's a full range of vegetarian stuff, and probably vegan crap. You clearly haven't eaten out in middle class North London, if you have to check this. Kid-friendliness: If you take kids, they are unlikely to be locked up, turned away or eaten. They won't be served at the bar. Unless they're buying one for the bar staff member.
Cosy little gem, great atmosphere, incredible food. Sunday roast to die for! The roast pork was amazing! We also tried the vegan hot dogs which were so tasty. Would highly recommend for a pint or a biteFood: 5/5
Discovered this beautiful pub on a Friday night. There’s a lovely outdoor patio area, with and without heaters. There’s also an indoor fireplace for the winter. The food is great, I stuck to the standard fish and chips and friends has steak and veggie dishes. Everyone loved it. The staff were also friendly and efficient. Good vibes in here. Can’t wait to go back
