Our third visit here inspite of bad service we’ve encountered before here. Food takes about 50 minutes wait even on a quiet day. They seem to be always out of stock on many food items on their menu. I do not recommend.
This was by far, the worst ever meal I have been served! I've never been offered a salad of chopped lettuce and spring onion before, and both of these components were browning and limp. The staff were indifferent, and more interested in fiddling with the till or chatting to friends. The server knew we were waiting for a menu, but chose to put out menus on empty tables before giving one to us which was disheartening. The meal arrived missing the fried egg and grilled tomato on the mixed grill, and the meat was dry, full of gristle and cooked to death. Terrible place, avoid at all cost!
Me and my daughter stayed at the market House on Tuesday 12th for one night. Staff was lovely and friendly on arrival and described everything I needed to know about the room. The room was a double room and was immaculate. Lovely on suite bathroom and plenty of soft clean towels. Plenty of tea and coffee. I slept really well with no issues. Full English breakfast was perfect and so reasonably priced.will be returning to glastonberry again soon and will be returning to the market House. Thanks again for a very enjoyable stay. I stayed here a few nights with my partner. The room was large with a good bed; the breakfast was very good, huge amount of food; the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is also central in the town, overlooking the abbey, which is very handy. Unfortunately, this isn't a hotel; it's a bar with a few rooms above it an inn. There is a lot of noise from the bar, meaning an early night is difficult especially at weekends. The access to WiFi has been prioritised for the bar, so you don't get much signal in the upstairs rooms. Overall, it's not the worst place I've stayed in but I would be unlikely to stay here again.
We have had food here before which was delicious and gave it another go on our recent visit here. Barmaid was lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was so delicious, we came back later for evening meal which was equally as delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Food and drink was very well priced but....... the customer service from the assistant manager was the worst we have ever encountered. Food arrived without cutlery and when questioned the assistant manager became very aggressive & condescending towards us, telling us it was in the bar area it wasn't as we had already looked for it When we asked to speak to the manager she walked away, looked back at us and replyed "I'm the manager, good luck with that" We will not be returning there any time soon.
Quite honestly the worst meal I’ve ever been served. The majority of the menu was unavailable, then the food came out cold so had to ask for it to be warmed up. The potatoes looked rotten and the veg was disgusting. £40+ for four roast dinners which were largely inedible. Perhaps we should have noticed the red flags that the restaurant was empty on a Sunday lunch time! Never again
Very disappointing, the food was awful and substandard service from staff. We ordered some all-day breakfasts and a chicken wrap not being told some food was unavailable eggs, hashbrowns, wrap. We got the food, some things where over cooked and the others where under cooked. Staff where very unhelpful and we still got charged full price for it all. The only things that where ok where the kids meals.
Stayed overnight there ,lovely room comfy bed and nice breakfast so 4 stars for that. But as in pub would just give it a 2 stars kitchen wasnt working and heard from locals that is regular thing in that establishment and some staff members redish haired lady should work on their welcoming attitude. Overall wouldnt recomend.
31/12/2022, 10.30 am. The lady behind the bar was rude, not intetested in taking our order even though the pub was empty. Looks like she did not want the order. After wating patiently we decided to go else where. No wounder the place was empty. She was more interested in talking to 3 people at the bar .then us not good
