We dined here but we’re not staying at the hotel. My meal was good - a veggie bowl with veg based ‘meats’ - it was flavorful and healthy and visually appealing. My friend ordered the duck confit and tough the duck was good, the pasta was so hot/spicy she couldn’t eat it. The place is busy so go when you have time. Ordering at the bar worked best for us as the servers were quite busy. The atmosphere was nice - an old pub setting. Our drinks were good - the watermelon margarita was a hit!
I've been here three times in two days. I cannot express how ducking good the food is and how hospitable and welcoming the staff are. It has Gluten free/Vegan options that are mouth watering. Come, hither, stay, fill up, get drunk. Enjoy.Service: 5/5
Mark, Frin and the entire staff were so accommodating. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. They are genuinely focused on making you feel at home. The breakfast was fabulous and large portioned. Great conversations came about from the locals and other guests, which I’m attributing to the type of people they draw in.
Oh wow! Chance discovery on a random walk and we found this brilliant place. The staff mentioned there was a new menu so I tried the “tapas” style 3 for £18 and…. delicious does not do it justice. I had the Rava Dosa, King Prawn and Corn fritter and I could easily have seconds once the fire brigade puts out the fire in my mouth … in a good way!!! Yum. Come and have some! I’m not one of those take photos of me food types but I wished I had.
I've used the pub rather than the hotel, and the service and drinks are great. They have a fantastic and inclusive drinks menu, catering for non-alcohol drinkers too, and the chilli is really good. It's also a brilliant venue for special events.Service: 5/5
We were made very welcome and we were made at home, the staff were very friendly and the attention to detail of the room was beautiful, and spotlessly clean, the food was beautiful, all freshly cooked, lots of choices we stayed in a few over the days we were in Glastonbury and that was the best. Will definitely be back.Rooms: 5/5
I came down from London to visit my brother who has dementia and is in a care home in Glastonbury. After a distressing and emotional day I decided to have a drink in this pub. I ordered a mojito, and stood at the bar waiting for it. The girl who was making it suddenly said "are you going to stand here and watch me make it or do you want to go and sit at a table?" I was really shocked at her cocky and rude attitude. I sat at a table, and she brought it over, It was a nice drink, but due to the attitude of that girl behind the bar I will not visit again. I left after one drink and found somewhere that was more friendly. A suggestion, she could have said "if you'd like to sit down I'll bring it over". Easy. Must try harder and maybe some training is needed on how to speak politely to customers.
Vile establishment, happy to take your money, but look down their noses at the locals and anyone else who's not their preferred middle class clientele. God forbid you should ask to use the toilet, even if you've been buying drinks all day and consuming them outside. Nasty people, nasty attitudes.Service: 1/5
Only go in for drinks. It's on the pricy side for Avalon but you pay for what you get. Great friendly atmosphere, really good selection of drinks. Service can be slow but itsa really busy place so just be patient!Service: 3/5
Food was pretty good, staff seemed uninterested. Bit pricy for what it was. Would go there again when the queen of cups is closed.Service: 2/5
